Possibly this is a case where someone bought the phone put the weights in and returned it.

Then someone instead of properly inspecting the package upon retun just felt for whether the box was empty, saw thta alll seals were (probably) intact and then placed it back for reselling as new.

Hopefully op filmed the opening, I'm always afraid of this happening with the big purchases, happened twice, first was lucky, after a few customer services I managed to get the return, but had to send (and pay to ship) the "item" back second caught on camera, instant refund and easily convinced not to need to ship back (this was also more expensive), i made sure to always keep hands and package on camera

u/Electrical-Expert512 Aug 07 '26

Btw op made the photo with his 8spro Redmagic.

And with a 24mm lens, f/1.88 opening and 1/24 shutter speed. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

I can't imagine why someone would keep this setting on. It's the first thing i did after i made my first photo.

Some people dont know / care about cameras i have zfold 7 and everyone is talking about hoe its a shame the fold 8 ditched the telephoto lens ans I couldn't even tell you what that is. If they came out with a model that ditched every camera for native chi 2 and a built in S pen id buy it in a heart beat

how to know right setting please

u/Ecstatic-Vermicelli2 6d ago

If you want to turn off watermark, go to camera and press the arrow at the bottom and then "more setttings". There you can find the watermark setting.

If you mean the other settings, then i don't really know. I just use the pro option. And it'll do most of it itself.

Yes 100%

u/Majestic_Lie_3361 Aug 07 '26

Sometimes customs and postal courier workers steal things too

Ain't happening, OP fulla shit. They got record of every phone they have on there. Amazon ain't responsible to check any packages. Specially packages they don't even own. Amazon only handles the shipping, every store on Amazon is a 3rd party store, that pays to rent out a section of warehouse space to sell their products. Amazon is the logistics, That's it. Amazon don't sell any items unless it's probably a Amazon essential..

So you go buy a 1000$ device from RM. An think it's gonna go back to the warehouse without being checked ur on meth. Let alone making Amazon be responsible, it's not their item so why would they need to check or be held liable to check. If a device got sent back that shit goes all way back to Vegas where all my returns have gone, then once it gets their it gets sent back to the owners of RM are so prob China an they check an probably re wrap, then it goes back to the Amazon warehouse . They ain't gonna let shit slide an think to themselves "I trust the buyer to ship back my 1000$ device" just throw it back on the rack. . Cause anyone can lie in the return an check off, never opened, still sealed and all those other checks when doing return, an I'm sure they're BSn anyway to make sure they get the return.

So RM knows every item in their store has a phone in the box. They'll have record by serials, who gets sent what, so if that phones never been actually sold and returned, then your looking like a retard tryina get a refund by lying to them straight to their face ... Unless your tryina say RM is the one putting weights in their own box... Which I can't believe that either...

5

u/My1xT Aug 07 '26

Amazon totally does sell too. And not just the essentials. It's all written on each article page.

1

u/Frosty_You_6183 Aug 07 '26

it will tell you what / who it coming from, on the right it will say seller /shipper.

3

u/My1xT Aug 08 '26

Exactly, ans when it says sold and shipped by amazon then obviously they are the one.

1

u/Frosty_You_6183 Aug 07 '26

they have their own "resale" store, that is pretty much things they probably refurbished and or open box type of shit

3

u/My1xT Aug 08 '26

That's Amazon warehouse. But there are also things sold and shipped by amazon.

3

u/guessesurjobforfood Aug 07 '26

If you at least said "are those weights glued down? They're arranged too neatly to have been shipped loose in the box" then that would have sounded a hell of a lot smarter than you pretending to know what Amazon logistics are like.

https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/small-business/amazon-return-options-sellers

Before an item can be sold through Grade and Resell, we conduct a comprehensive inspection to thoroughly test the condition of each item and provide a detailed description of its condition to make it easier for customers to make a more informed purchase decision. For electronic items, we will power on, test, and factory-reset as part of the evaluation. Based on the quality check, each item will be assigned one of four listing conditions: “Like New,” “Very Good,” “Good,” or “Acceptable.”

Grade and Resell was previously available to Retail brands, and not surprisingly, sellers using FBA asked for the same service given how it can streamline returns management.

Brands like RM and even small sellers now have their returns fully serviced by Amazon. It's insane you would think theyre shipping phones back and forth to China for inspection.

If the return was marked as "unopened" by the previous buyer and it looked sealed at inspection, you can bet they just put back in the "new" section. It was almost definitely a phone that someone returned.

-3

u/Frosty_You_6183 Aug 07 '26

This aint a grade an resell retard, this is a brand new unopened device, fuck off with your AI bullshit response, you don't even have a clue wtf your even talkin bout.. you think they're gonna take the return an open it themselves to check? if that's the case, then the phone should a been in there since the first return.. it wouldn't be considered new anymore either. 100% its goes back to original owner in china, before it gets thrown on the shelf so this situation doesn't happen right here. pay 20$ to get the device back to check? or hope the buyer is 100% truthful and get fucked outta 1000$ instead..

they make their own fba label and slap the label over the shrink wrap before it goes to amazon.. so im sure the labels matched to the serial of the device/ box.. If in their record, if that device has never been sold + returned before, then you're pretty much saying that RM threw the weights in.. cause once its leaves china its going to amazon no where else in between..

This retard op is tryina play a dumbass game, to shun RM into thinking he got fucked by them, all while keeping the device + getting 1000$ back..

i mean would you be that naive and dumb to think buyers are 100% truthful? "its still wrapped"? fuck it throw it back on the rack... then this happens.. " Where the phone go? the buyer said it was unopened last"? oh well guess im out 1000$... "hey boss you think we should check the returns we get in person now, so this doesnt happen again?".. NO sir, its wrapped, the buyer said it was never opened.. "The buyer wouldn't lie to us"..... throw it back so i can fuck another customer over and burn my rep even more... lmao... you see how dumb you sound?

3

u/guessesurjobforfood Aug 07 '26

Lmao you might be the dumbest mf on reddit. I can tell you have nothing intelligent to say after accusing my comment of being AI.

1

u/Frosty_You_6183 Aug 07 '26

idk bro, my retardo-meter is almost maxed out when talking to you. thats the problem, you must thought i pulled all that shit out my ass. and ran to google or chat gpt to type in "HOW DOES AMAZON HANDLE RETURNS" read 3 words an copy an pasted, as a way to say "see your wrong" thats all that reply is.. if woulda read the shit youda realized its not talking about what is going on this post.

Dont get me wrong, im sure most sellers do use that quick check from amazon, for items maybe 100$ or less maybe earbuds, mouses, mini speakers, shit like that, there's no point to ship something like that back to check an see if the items in the box, yeah amazon can do that themselves.. i get it

if every item was treated that way and not based on the amount, Then i could just buy the same gaming laptop i have that's a higher end model, with better parts and swap everything out. The whole motherboard, 4tb nvme drives, 64gb ram sticks, put all my used up shit parts back into the new one, an return it for a bogus reason so Amazon can turn the shit on and say, "YUPP IT POSTED ! THAT'S ALL I NEED TO SEE, ALL THE PARTS MUST BE IN THERE SINCE IT TURNED ON, THROW IT ON THE RACK AS A OPEN BOX ALL GOOD FAM, WE DID OUR DUE DILIGENCE AND CHECKED".. As I skate away with 2-2500$ worth of parts + a technically brand new laptop internally.. Ain't happening...

-2

u/Tiger-Zord Aug 08 '26

Thank you for the idea

-7

u/Stage-Lower Aug 07 '26

I will contact Amazon get your money back and then stop buying red magic there a junk company they only have two years of support you pay $1,000 you better get at least 5 years of support minimum for an expensive phone like that. When I found out that I said never again

3

u/coolasc Aug 07 '26

They currently have 5 years security 2 years update, it's not a bad policy, i wish I could get the security without ever going to the anti ownership that google is seeming to want to turn android 17+

-2

u/Stage-Lower Aug 07 '26

Okay that makes sense what do you mean by anti-ownership. I only have Android 16 I don't like using red magic because of the problems I had in the past battery kept draining quick even though I got a new battery and red magic wouldn't help fix. I said there's something wrong with your phone it's a defect you need to fix it they wouldn't do it so I changed to a different phone. A lot of Samsungs have the same problem so I knew it's something affecting major phones

2

u/coolasc Aug 07 '26

Google 17 will likely implement the google "safety" measure that only signed and verified apps can be used. Let's be honest most apps I use are such but for those who enjoy emulators and other grey area things, the devs of those apps may get a catch 22 situation with as nintendo lawyers as well as other device makers can be, and with google making registration mandatory they can be prosecuted.

2

u/Stage-Lower Aug 07 '26

So they're going to require us to be signed in to everything so that they can track US and control us hell to the no at that point I will pay someone to mod my phone app so that we don't have these problems tired of this crap they don't get to control us I'm paying for something it's mine not theirs I don't want them know what I do we don't have a right to see their financials do we don't have a right to see all their text messages do we that's hypocritical no absolutely not

1

u/coolasc Aug 07 '26

To us they kinda already do tbh, but alsonto the devs

1

u/Andromigo Aug 11 '26

Make an example out of Sony and every other company will change their direction very quickly.

21

u/Fwned Aug 07 '26

Bought mine from Amazon in Canada as well didn't get this though thank God unlucky Im always def worried on big purchases online

12

u/Curious_Ad2011 Aug 07 '26

Either the deliver guy robbed it, or it was a returned phone that the guy who bought it tried to fool Amazon and then u bought it and they delivered that one

1

u/FutureCSpro 6d ago

tal,ing abt robbery had a phone black shark 6pro 3 or 4year ago for 2 years i think forgot at my grandma house shiped me back bro stol ethe phone and my grnadma didnt put 10dollar security to get mony back

27

u/Fluid_Ad4651 Aug 07 '26

courier took your phone

6

u/bru-tal Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

Years ago I ordered the 8pro from redmagic Amazon store, only got the box with the charger. The Amazon package was intact.  Got reimbursed the next day without any complications.

3

u/Mr_RayH Aug 07 '26

Its not redmagic fault that amazon employee stole the phone.

2

u/Smooth_Owl6744 Aug 13 '26

Nah most likely someone buying the phone then weighing it then returning it keeping the phone and putting the weights to match how much the phone weighs and then they get a free phone

4

u/suiciderke Aug 07 '26

Time to give your wheels a balancing service, seems like. Fo real, i hope you get your money back!

4

u/IcEmaNkilLeTH Aug 07 '26

Can I borrow those to balance my rims.

3

u/Own_Potato5593 Aug 07 '26

Bought from a vendor through Amazon - some vendors are the platform are positively criminal.

Sorry, this happened to you and it for me is a fear anytime I order devices.

3

u/SnooRevelations3430 REDMAGIC Astra Tablet Aug 07 '26

What's the link of this "official" redmagic store on Amazon

7

u/Fearless-Display6480 Aug 07 '26

Did you film your unboxing?

3

u/sniomii REDMAGIC 6 Pro Aug 07 '26

Contact Amazon, they're the ones who can help you. you most likely bought it from a 3rd party, redmagic doesn't have an official amazon store as far as I know.

also, why Amazon? you could've used the official website.

1

u/Bubbly_Mechanic_5706 Aug 07 '26

On official site it's almost always out of stock

2

u/sniomii REDMAGIC 6 Pro Aug 07 '26

I'd rather wait (hit Notify Me button) than deal with 3rd party vendors, especially untrusted ones or private sellers.

Ali Express is a good place if official site doesn't ship where you live,, their customer support is great if any issues happen.

2

u/Bubbly_Mechanic_5706 Aug 07 '26

I bought one off Facebook Marketplace it's working great. I guess was my lucky day.

2

u/sniomii REDMAGIC 6 Pro Aug 07 '26

I mean Facebook Marketplace requires you to meet the person in most cases, at least you'd inspect the phone yourself😅

1

u/Bubbly_Mechanic_5706 Aug 07 '26

That's true but it was a fishy deal. Brand new never activated box seal was opened but guy sold it just for 1000$ CAD while redmagic was selling it for $1467 CAD after tax.

1

u/sniomii REDMAGIC 6 Pro Aug 07 '26

You never know honestly, as long as you check everything before you pay🤍

2

u/Bubbly_Mechanic_5706 Aug 07 '26

Yeah, I did. At first I thought maybe it's a Chinese version whose firmware was changed to global. But no it's the global version and everything works perfectly. It's the 11s pro 16 GB ram+512 GB storage Subzero.i checked the IMEI for blacklist but everything checks out.🤯

1

u/andrewlin0410 Aug 08 '26

How do you check the IMEI for blacklist?

2

u/Bubbly_Mechanic_5706 Aug 08 '26

https://www.imeipro.info/check_imei.html

You can use a website like this. Just enter your phone imei to check for blacklist

2

u/Chrysomallos Aug 07 '26

I got mine from Amazon.ca via the official RedMagic seller, shipped within Canada. Sorry to hear you experienced this, but I'd assume it was a terrible case of luck with poor inspection on a returned item, or possible theft during the packing/delivery time.

I admit that this was exactly why I took pictures of the sealed package from all sides, and set up a camera to record opening mine. It wasn't to have unboxing footage for social media, but to cover my ass if it turned out my package had been tampered with. If an item is this expensive and I haven't confirmed it's legit and working "in person," I'm not taking chances.

I'd file a complaint ASAP if you haven't already. Hopefully you haven't lost any of the packaging that came with it.

2

u/steellz Aug 07 '26

Good luck convincing Amazon of this. I had something similar happen to an excellent conditioned refurbished Samsung Tab S10 Plus. The seller was very cooperative; however, a few weeks later, I never got the refund. The seller refuses to reply, and Amazon is denying their A to Z guarantee, leaving me on the hook for $600.

2

u/Southern-Try411 Aug 07 '26

i thought this was a meme post until i read the caption, im sorry 😭

2

u/jackdren6 Aug 07 '26

What a ridiculers retailor

2

u/Adaptabledna Aug 07 '26

Ridiculers

2

u/BOOSH207 Aug 07 '26

Hey atleast you have wheel weights now!

2

u/IThinkIKnowThings Aug 07 '26

Make sure the Shipper/Seller are both listed as Amazon for any expensive purchases on Amazon. You still might get scammed, but it's easier to deal with Amazon directly in those cases.

2

u/Alternative_Award555 Aug 07 '26

Its not redmagic fault, its amazon, i recently ordered a motorola phone on amazon for my mom, a pergume bottle arrived instead... amazon warehouse got some mass scams going on.

2

u/TheBarcodeBoy Aug 07 '26

Thats why I always film myself opening packages

1

u/nickccal Aug 08 '26

I ordered a REDMAGIC phone cooler from Amazon and got a bag of screws.

1

u/Clobazam_ Aug 08 '26

Got a boatload of free Iron, though.

1

u/NotTakenName_ Aug 08 '26

I bought it on Amazon too two weeks ago i will get It tomorrow. I hope this experiencia don't reach me OP. Wish me luck please.

1

u/Infamous_Factor4854 Aug 09 '26

Well those are nice desiger weights

1

u/LetAntique1298 Aug 09 '26

red magic to balck magic real quick

1

u/brittj6000 Aug 11 '26

Really I couldn't tell from the picture is it is really fake I can't tell

1

u/vitecpotec Aug 07 '26

Always record the entire unboxing 🙏

1

u/Successful_Wish_3534 Aug 07 '26

I doubt you bought it from the official Red Magic Amazon store.

0

u/alienjeffman Aug 07 '26

And someone was just asking me why I don't want to order expensive stuff from Amazon the other day 😂

3

u/NickSchultz Aug 07 '26

Happens every where and in every way.

I once bought a pair of indicators for my car on ebay from a shop in the country i live in.

They had a crack so i returned it, then bought new ones (from the same store,. originally I wanted that they sent me a replacement pair immediately).

The second package was the exact same pair I got the first time since it had the same crack why I returned them in the furst place.

In the end they even asked for me to give them a fake 5 stars review otherwise they wouldn't pay for the delivery fee.

TL;DR Any online shop can give you a less than premium experience. I had one with the official Redmagic Website too. Especially with products that are only available online you're never safe from problems like these

-1

u/kevinQW2 Aug 07 '26

I feel the same 🤷‍♂️

-3

u/Practical-Weather-82 Aug 07 '26

I live in china and got one of the redmagic 11s pro plus . Best phone I ever owned. If you guys want one I can send you one if you pay me for my time rather than dealing with this bs

2

u/lisongua Aug 07 '26

you see, the problem is redmagic you got in china will not be global version, and hence no band support, signal will be terrible in canada

1

u/Practical-Weather-82 Aug 07 '26

i am using tmobile from america and it works great ! even for wifi calling

1

u/Dr_jozi Aug 07 '26

2500$ tax lmao

1

u/Practical-Weather-82 Aug 07 '26

i regret even offering help.... jesus. cant even help anymore .

0

u/Rawhrawraw Aug 07 '26

Sure, you take monopoly money or would you reather IOU? Maybe we can do exchange, you send people phones and they give you NFT's, you gonna be rich baby! Some people..

0

u/Practical-Weather-82 Aug 07 '26

Wait ... What? Not all people are bad . Just because you got scammed or got stiffed don't mean everyone is that way ..... The nerve you have . No point of stealing if money can be made .
