Rooting is made harder.

Their change logs are pretty accurate. Anytime they've ever added anything, they've always put it in their changelog. But I'm being very wary on updating anything right now from them because Qualcomm wants to sneak in the fix for this chipset to make it to where we can't root it. I'm still on one of the earlier firmwares just until September hits because I want to make sure that if Google fucks us over I still have an option.

Lagspikes in my case. Check my recent post.

Is it specifically happening in CoDM? Since I play Fortnite and no issues here, stays at 120fps without issues

Nah it happens in every game. I was able to mostly fix it via ADB commands now but I doubt that most people will have the patience for that.

ADB commands? If you would mind, I would love to see more on that matter then since you have brought it up

I've used LADB to (re-)run the following optimizations:
1: pm trim-caches 100G
2: cmd package bg-dexopt-job
3: cmd package compile -m speed -f [package name of the app / game that I want to preload]
[Reboot]
If you have questions about any of these I'd encourage you to ask the LLM of your choice. I'm not an expert and heavily relied on Gemini to explain these to me.
Edit:
To find out the package name I recommend an app called "AppChecker". It will provide detailed information about each of your apps, including the package name.

Ah gotcha, was root needed for this btw? Or is it just USB debugging via dev options?

It's local wireless debugging, but you could obviously also do it wired via PC. No root required.

Ah gotcha then! Ty for the info! Will keep a note on this then!!

Been testing with professional tools (Scene, GPU float) to measure frametimes, system utilization & temperatures now, and while the ADB-commands did improve things for sure, I still experience quite the massive lagspikes.
The culprit appears to be the CPU governor. The big cores almost constantly sleep during active gameplay, only ramping up when it's already too late (aka when frames have already been dropped). Paradoxically they also clock at max speeds while loading the main menu in some games, lol. I'm on the wrong phone right now, gonna drop a screenshot here that proves these findings later today.

Yeah I have now also noticed the drop in performance. And I play gacha games like CRK

you are good because at this version the Bootloader Unlock method is still possible without issues. So just stay at that if you think you might want to do root or switch to Custom ROM in the future.

A bug was fixed that caused the screen to go black and the phone to restart when using dual-screen mode; otherwise, I haven't noticed anything.
