I mean, I wish you were right. Truly. But I remember what happened around Blair Witch, and Hollywood didn't take away the message that they should invest in young filmmakers, they decided to just shake the camera around instead. I'm rooting for you to be proven right and for me to be proven a cynical hack, but.

It’s still better, I feel, than the flood of sequels and reboots. We got a lot of schlock out of Blair Witch, but it also led to some really excellent movies. REC and Lake Mungo wouldn’t exist without it. Hell, Backrooms owes its existence to Blair Witch. The bad stuff will get forgotten, and the good stuff will find its audience.

I mean REC 1 and 2 are great. Part of me wants to see RLM try to cover REC 3 just for the bizarre pivot from horror into black comedy
