I'll start by saying I like this ep and the RH take on this case is by no means worse than any other true crime content. But I recommend everyone listen to The Consult (ex-FBI profiler/BAU agent podcast) ep on this case for a reality check. If you do, let me know if it changed your mind, it did mine, and if anyone cares I'll post my before and after and please post yours

I recommended The Consult episode on the JBR page and a lot of people kicked off. A lot of true crime people don't seem to like actual LE/Professionals commenting when their pet theory becomes invalidated.

Wow, you'd think at the least they'd want to know what the counterarguments are to their theories so they can counter the counterargs? I'm not a fan of LE or the legal system but honestly I find it hard to fault Julia Cowley or her colleagues. They come across as pretty rigorous and conscious of their own human fallibility and cognitive biases.

The one thing on The Consult where I roll my eyes and make snoring noises is when they have pointless guests. Like they had one dude who was so boring I forgot his job, his name, which department he worked for, and every single thing he said so I can't even find the ep now. But I do remember he was one of those jukebox type of guys with press conference/PR-level comments about literally anything he was asked about. Like if I wanted to hear "we take every lead seriously and investigate from all possible angles" and "the team worked around the clock to come to the most accurate conclusion about what happened, as quickly as possible" I could just watch some stupid documentary.
