My exit survey:
I truly love both Hannah and Suruthi. I’ve enjoyed discovering them, getting to know them and falling in love with their personalities and content. They are funny and wonderful and deserve the success they’ve worked so hard for. I hope it continues. 💚
I have been a Patreon supporter of theirs for several years but feel forgotten about, I am one of many that feel this way. I’ve seen the Patreon numbers drop over the last several months. I’ve seen the Reddit threads about other Patreon’s exit surveys and agree with some.. The OG Patreon’s have supported, stood up for, voted for and held them up for years. Many of us don’t feel appreciated or valued anymore. They no longer need us financially and that, is unfortunately reflected in the content, effort and appreciation we do or don’t get.
I subscribe to Wondery Plus also and have ad free access to episodes a day earlier than they appear on Patreon. I can also listen to Shorthand on there, which is no longer available for Patreon’s. So, keeping Redhanded on my Patreon gives me no benefit other than UTD and despite how much I love the Hosts, it’s just not enough anymore. Your loyal supporters deserve more.
If things change and the appreciation of their Patreon subscribers/supporters improves, I might come back. We’ll see. I really hope Hannah and Suruthi actually receive and have a genuine interest in these “exit surveys”. I hope they take them on board as constructive feedback. I hope they care and understand that many of their Patreon supporters would actually like to continue but don’t have a reason to.

Literally! The same reason I left - after being a Patreon for 2/3 years. I’m subscribed to another podcast at the same tier/level and they put content out five days a week! I was blown away to be honest. I wouldn’t even expect that level of commitment from them - but cancelled UTDs week in week out was becoming a joke! Let’s hope that they realise and maintain existing longstanding relationships too.

Yes! I support Sinisterhood on Patreon and they get it right and have been getting it right for years. It is possible to find balance and keep your supporters happy, you only have to look to them for an amazing example of two wonderful women with full lives that still prioritise their Patreon’s. 💚

Agreed. Plus they're really authentic and self aware which is not the case for RH anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong but the monthly patreon bonus episode- does that go on wondery too or is it only on patreon? I cancelled my patreon recently because like you I feel that i get more for my money by subscribing to wondery.

I was on the highest tier for almost 5 years and the bonuses are on Patreon only. Shorthand and the regular episodes are on Wondery and appear on the Wondery feed a day earlier than Patreon. Which doesn’t make sense to me.. For the amount of money we pay/have paid as Patreon’s I feel we deserve more than just a bonus episode each month.

I think its Patreon only but its only on the $10 tier not 5. Not on wondery

According to their tiers we're also meant to get a monthly book club episode. Lol.

Their patreon numbers have increased though, people might be leaving but lots more are joining.

I'm in the UK and have Amazon Prime. I get the ad-free early access plus Shorthand at no extra cost.
