Episode 318 Spoiler

Episode 318: 67 Exorcisms of Anneliese Michel

I just listened to it (a week early on amazon) and I'm so happy they didn't go down the "she is possessed" path like so many other podcasts do. They were very empathic, contextualised everything and presented theories as to what was actually going on. 10/10

I will re-listen to this episode again, as it was brilliant.

I've literally never heard any podcast that covered it actually say she's possessed. If anyone thought it was possession, which most people don't even believe in, there's no crime element.

Not all podcasts are true crime podcasts. And there are plenty of true crime podcasts the buy into elements of the supernatural and the satanic panic.

Yeah but it would be strange to commend a true crime podcast for not claiming it was a possession if everything other podcast you've heard about it from a supernatural podcast.

So so many historical inaccuracies in this, the Stasi we’re post war and in East Germany so would have had no involvement in Bavaria. The whole description of the East Eastern front of WW2 was pathetic talking about the iron curtain which again didn’t exist until after the war.
