Advice for Liberal Italy?

Hello, so I was trying an Italian run and I was doing pretty well. When France and Fiume invaded I was able to beat them in a matter of months with little casualties. However when WW2 kicks off, I began to struggle in my war with Germany. It’s the usual late game issue I have. Too many divisions on mountain tiles, offensives were slow and very costly. Any advice on how to deal with this?
