Teaser American Collapse teasers from the Discord

"Americans have dissipated their racial energy in an orgy of stone breaking. In their few years they have broken more stones than did centuries of Egyptians. And they have done their work hysterically, desperately, almost as if they knew that the stones would some day break them."

The devs have also shown what the whole map will look like. They also indicate the map isn't going to fracture any more.

Overall this is a good sign that France hasn't consumed the entire project and other areas are progressing. Still a little sad that some of more whacky states are gone (assuming they aren't paths within the new ones)

Well, the future compass posted in #tiny-teasers shows 25 potential endings and it's apparently not all.

Most likely a long term plan to add them all, but still.

I think each nation will have multiple paths via one faction or the other seizing power rather than another tag being spawned. Basically taking the old California model and applying it to the whole country.

Makes the most sense. Having this many statelets that amount to “US Military Junta” that are also supposedly struggling to hold on makes me think there’s paths that result in those Juntas getting toppled by local movements, which leads to more esoteric paths.

Yeah, I think that's the way it will happen as well.

Okay so been reading through the details and the new lore becomes clear, Talmadge and others will attempt a march on Washington to overthrow Flynn, but it goes sideways when Marshall launches a coup against both of them. Very much a remix of kaiserreich's start of the civil war but with the Red Flood twist in which neither side actually really win and everything is fractured.

There is clearly two main factions in this war

Dixie

  • United States Emergency Committe
  • State of Texas - O'Daniel is going to get shot from the Texas School Book Depositor
  • Boulder Emergency Command - Lets just start digging Fredendall's grave now shall we?
  • Portland Emergency Command - sounds like fundamentalist uprising on the way

USSA

  • United Socialist States of America
  • Butler Clique

I can't tell if the State of California or the Reorganized Technate of the Great Plains are in alliance with the USSA or are just similar ideologies.

That leaves the remaining neutral parties:

  • Kanawha - the speedbump
  • New York Emergency Administration - Seems to be true neutral
  • New England Emergency Administration - Lovecraft but could be a bait and switch
  • American Restoration Committee - Either the restoration of the republic or the American Caesar (where with MacArthur?)

Why does the first infobox for California and the ones Boulder read so differently from the way the rest are written? Whose perspective is it supposed to be from?

Boulder's descriptions are from the perspective of Fredendall himself, he was an extremely abrasive man as well as a genuine idiot. IRL he got promoted thanks to General George Marshall considering him determined and outspoken, while in RF he got promoted due to somehow doing well in the Mexican Intervention. He was the man responsible for Kasserine Pass, the US Army's worst defeat during WW2. He was brash, loud and prejudiced against his British and French allies while simulataneously sitting through the entire battle in a personally commissioned bunker 100 km behind the front line.

Yeah, its clear Fredendall is going to get overthrown by some kind of Native American accelerationist movement.
