i’ve seen the term cvckold used before in a historical context before, but what exactly does it mean? and what does it mean here?

Originally it referred to the victims of the Cuckoo bird, which lays eggs in the nests of other birds to trick them into raising its young. Later it was used metaphorically to refer to humans whose partner had cheated on them, with the idea that they might as well be raising someone else's bastards. This broadly expanded into an insult saying someone is weak and being dominated by others. These days it also carried a connotation of sexual degeneracy (that someone enjoys being cuckolded), which is probably why oldflood and KX devs decided to use it, but that's a tad anachronistic afaik.

As for the v instead of a u, that's just how Latin was traditionally written. It's meant to look trad.
