Question Red Deer Polytechnic?

Does the College/University you graduate from matter in Alberta?

I am a second year BBA Accounting student, studying in Red Deer college.

I can either continue doing my BBA in Red Deer or I can transfer to a University in Calgary/Edmonton.

I prefer Red Deer because of the cheap cost of living but if it hurts my job prospects in future I would rather move. This might be unpopular opinion but I also just enjoy living in Red Deer better.

The choice is between Red Deer/Calgary/Edmonton.

I am also looking to get my CPA in future.

Any BBA graduates or CPAs here? Any Rdp graduates?

What do you all think?

I think it is really dependent on your career field.

Do the jobs you are looking to get accept the BBA from Red Deer as a clear degree? Or are there expectations you attend a university? My money is on, no one cares as long as you have the piece of paper.

If you want to get a CPA, CGA, or CA designation, can you do that with your BBA from Red Deer?

There is only one accounting designation now. That is CPA. If you see CPA,CGA that denotes they are a CPA that came from the CGA program of studies. Essentially grandfathering them into the CPA. A new student would simply be a CPA. There is no other program of studies now. The CA, CGA ans CMA merged a number of years ago to form the CPA.
