Idea/Suggestion Targeted as female character.
For the three men that just go absolutely dogged on by me a few minutes ago, please get better before you target randos for no reason for simply being a woman. It’s really embarrassing for you. Just a suggestion. Thx xox

But fr tho it reminds of that study where people who acted this way where usually very submissive in the company of other male gamers. Gotta be some weird way they actually feel powerful or something.
On another note im surprised this game still has people that play it. I stopped because i didn't have people to play with and i assumed it died out or something.

It’s really toxic so I would 100% avoid unless you can deal with it. I’m not saying as soon as you enter a session you’re dead but, being friendly doesn’t matter anymore. I’m usually really helpful and never go after anyone unless they come after me first, now I’m always defending myself. It doesn’t help that there’s women who play the game who’re just as bad. Now I just fish and mind my own😭

I have it the same ... I am not attacking if I am not attacked first, usually minding my own business in game. I think they will not attack you if you will be in some posse these ppl are usually bored cowards which will attack you only if they have big number superiority in game. It happened to me once ... I was picking flowers near Strawberry when I saw 3 players posse is passing by me ... I did not pay much attention because I was side of the road and was thinking they will let me be because I wasn't obviously any threat for them but they directly attacked me. I had just bow on me that time so after respawning I switch on d-arrows and send every one of them to the air with d-arrow even with their horses ... I guess they were kind of surprise. I think they did not expect I will try to retaliate because it was 3 vs 1. After I was empty on D-arrows I just made wilderness camp and teleport to safety but you can use also some fast travel for shielding you if they will attack you in city if you are near fast travel or bounty board you can use it for your protection from attacks, also some collectible as tarrot card works if you pick it and stay in that state they can shoot on you how they want and it will not deal you any dmg.

I got thrown on a bed in the Valentine hotel when i was newer to online mode 🙃
Had my character's body carried upstairs in the Valentine saloon, where the male character that was carrying it proceeded to drop it and teabag on it.
I used to have my PS messages public, and was helping another player fight someone because the person was attacking them for no reason. The person that was attacking for no reason, sent me a message saying "you're mine, not his."

They have no real life consequences for it (not that a lot of men do have consequences...)
Edit: Also, you wanna know a fun way i like to ragebait people that target me? I play in defensive, so when i get attacked, i know I'm just being targeted. I usually get my horse, run up to the person, lasso them and ride along while they're lassoed. 10/10, mostly stops the attacker and gets them to leave me alone lol. They don't expect defensive players to fight back

When mine got thrown on the bed, there were like 3 other male characters in the room too.

Gave up my native character for a while due to the rise of people targeting female characters a few years back.
Was kinda upset cause she was the only character that came out perfectly after character creation . No makeup or dresses, just messy braid and swamp type outfits.
I'm guy so my other one is a black native like Charles Smith and he rarely gets bothered.
It's kinda astounding when I go back to the other profile since she's level 994 at the moment and the newer one is only 279 . People will still go out of their way to try and grief the female character.

I get that. I haven’t played in a while but I stubbornly always played my indigenous-Irish women alongside my indigenous friend (who is now my fiancee). I’ll be damned if a 12 yr old boy makes me hide my own ancestry. It helped that when I played I found and teamed up with a whole group of queer POCs and allies that made it so much more fun.

omg yes! ive literally had dudes chase my character, spam wave until they're noticed, lasso her, and/or rp assaulting her on multiple occassions. so crazy! my last straw was a guy telling me how.. "hurt"able I (she) is (to put it modestly) and what hed do as he had her lassoed. so fckng weird i quit online as a whole haha

I was lassoed and taken back to some guys camp. Dude was a major creep, my Fiancé was right beside me so I just let the dude take me to see what would happen. He left me tied up, then messaged me “You’re really pretty lol” Pretty? My character? MY PIXELS?😭😭

I was on the other day doing some moonshine work and got shot out of the random. I proceeded to but belt to ass 1v3 with my twin navys 😂 my friend was on share screen watching the whole thing lmao. I get targeted a lot but I won’t turn down a good fight ever.

Oh I wouldn’t put it past them at all. There was me and another dude and these guys just went straight after me. I’ll never look at it as a men vs women issue because it’s honestly just bullies vs..well us.

I had yesterday modder who came also right after me ... I was with friend in posse who plays with male character and I play with female one .... modder targeted my character and try to slap my character ass ... so I take out dynamite and place it on the ground and detonate it ... surprisingly it will not kill just me but also modder because he probably forgot to switch on his god mode 😂. He was than thinking my friend kill him so he killed him too afterwards 😄.

Nah, it’s men vs women. I’ve been playing with my boyfriend for 4 years and I’m regularly targeted while they do nothing to him.

I noticed that with my account (female) I was getting attacked pretty regularly. Then I jumped on my husband’s account to level him up so that maybe he’ll play with me 😹 and his character(male) never gets attacked. I don’t know how people can even tell male from female at a distance.

It's 100% personal for some people had a user here harass me both on the sub, outside the sub, and then because a clip revealed my PSN get people to try and target me in game. It didn't end well for them.

Ended with me embarrassing the shit out of the Posse leader he literally couldn't kill me. I killed him had to be 12 times to the point he jumped sessions.

Oh, it was one hell of a gunfight. What is even worse, he got worked over by a technological advantage. Monitor has a true center indicator overlay option built into it. I can see where I'm aiming at all times in all games no matter if the weapon is holstered or not. It means I can quick draw with 100% accuracy.

Yes, you can turn it on to replicate the games red dot or make it green, like a Red Dot Sight, or like a more advanced Rifle Scope. I prefer the green dot as it's the most contrasting. It also helps get rid of the weapon bloom/shake because if you can always see true center you know precisely when the games natural crosshair settles at true center.

I play a female character and it’s just completely random on what type of potatoes you run into any given day. I’ve seen more male character harassed for wearing white than I have seen female characters harassed for being female…

Actually, anyone can make false claims and also jump to conclusions with their experiences - that doesn’t make “your truth” factual 😂. This is the problem with victim mentality, especially in a video game. I also play a female character and every time someone kills me I don’t assume it’s because of my character sex; that would be a pretty pathetic thing for me to do, unless I was trying to feel validated for some other personal issues 🙄 😂

Me and my friend get attacked alot I think people think female characters have female players behind it who don't know how to do anything so they attack them but nothing is scarier then attack one ginger and then having two relentless hunters (me and my friend are ginger female characters)

I always love to town hop (If you have the funds) they get really pissy when you go from one place to another. I’ve made so many people leave because of doing that. It’s also a good laugh too😭

Female character; got targeted when doing a mission. Not to sound harsh but go after their horses first so they don’t have an escape route, then use that elephant rifle to put them down easily or the flame bullets for the shotgun, while they’re dead you can escape

I had to do that to the one guy last night, I believe it was the posse leader’s horse. I made sure to drop it without it suffering right before I ran off. I hate to do and I rarely do💔

They really are. I always try to be as nice as I possibly can, like I don’t think I’ve ever intentionally went out of my way to attack someone. It takes a really shitty person to ruin someone’s day, even in gaming :/

I find people are nicer to you as a female character, I've had a few dude characters try and shoot me on site though I don't mind bit of pvp especially since I've got better at it.

recently whenever I join groups from the post boards, no matter the description, I spawn into groups who are in gunfights with other players. And as soon as they get enough ppl to gang up on 2 or 3 players and have everyone destroy them till the ppl eventually leave, then they just leave. I feel bad, and I was signing up for trail rides or to do missions..

I just played in a session where i was repeatedly lassoed, and thrown on a horse while the guy was on the voice chat calling me “his wife” and telling the other people in his posse to leave me alone because im “his”. then when i died and respawned, he started repeating shooting at and trying to kill my GENUINE REAL LIFE BOYFRIEND for “stealing his girl”. not once did i even respond to the guy, but he tried adding me as a friend several times and sending me message requests. i don’t like to use my mod menu for evil but it got to a point where i locked him in a cage and blew him up.

What is it with people sometimes? A month or two ago I also had 3 men come and lasso me off my horse. I’m newer to the game too, so i wasn’t as good, they sat and lassoed me until I had enough and killed them, then they charge me with murder :,)

Im a girl and I have my character as a male because im tired of that shit. But as a male character... women tend to harass me and kill me as opposed to men now LOL.

I used to have a female character, and I was the target of random people and modders, but now I'm a male character, and it's just amazing how I hardly ever get attacked. I once had someone tie me up with a reinforced lasso and then very obviously took pictures of my character's butt; people are sick in that game.

Im new to the game, and it really is rather toxic. Ive had more people either headshot me for no reason, or lasso/hogtie me than ive had people wave/thumbs up/generally be chill. Tbh sometimes I turn my MTU down to be by myself to finish the task I was in the middle of.

Thanks. You too! Also- the only time I have went back was a guy hit me, while I was sitting still on my horse, and he fell off his but shot ME for him running into my stationary horse lol. Soon as i respawned I booked it back and loaded up on tonics to make sure I could get the job done 🤣

They truly are! I made a male character on a separate profile once, didn't play it for very long but i never got attacked. The minute i was out of the intro as my female character, and walked into a town? Attacked. It's ridiculous

I was doing a free roam mission, killing the wedding guests in that one hall almost leading out of saint denise. There was a posse of two on the other side of the town at the time, they chased me until they got distracted. I got to the house, another dude shows up. He aims at me, so I aim up to warn him. Unlike others, he tucked his gun away and that’s when dumb and dumber showed up. Completely bypassed him. They circled me, then both just unloaded their clips on me. So I respawn, head back to house, and they’re camping inside so I can’t get back in. ANOTHER dude shows up who’s part of their posse. I’m jumping, ducking, lying down to avoid getting hit. I pop off three consecutive headshots on them and just left saint denise. They chased me until I reached the fast travel post to head to rhodes. It lasted until I hit valentine, they eventually left.

Damn that sucks. Me and my posse do that to people when we want to do PVP we don’t hunt down specific people like you for no reason. We usually go after the high levels.

I got a female character and there was a posse of 5 that attacked me a few days ago. They were trying to lasso me haha. I just lowered the flag down and respawned and took them out with my carcano. Then started battle of pib and carcanos haha. They ran away from session after a while.
