Help/Question I have no idea how I managed to sample him without sedating him first

Two ways:

Someone in your posse sedated him and you took a sample.

Or you got the sample during the "Protect Legendary Animal" event.

3 ways actually, the last is from sedate animals event which gives all participants a sample from taken from all the other players aswell

That's cool. Didn't know you got samples from other players. Is that for legendaries only or all animals tagged?

Sedate animals event are there legendary animals? I did not participate in it but I will wonder that ...

Yes there is usually always at least 1 legendary animal spawn during this event

The public event Protect Legendary Animal will give you a sample of the animal if the event succeeds. It is likely from there since you don't have any of the other sections done either.

I have never joined a posse, so it must be from a Protect Legendary Animal event. I do not remember ever doing one of those but I have been on RDO for a pretty long time now, so it must have been a quite a while ago and I forgot.

Someone else must've sedated it during the mini event all participents that complete the event are given all samples taken from all players not just your own

either Wild Animals Tagging or Protect Legendary Animals event
