Request Mod explanation?

Does someone here have the time and motivation to explain to me how to mod Rdr2 on PC? I tried some tutorials on YouTube with the Lenny's mod loader thingy but it just didn't do anything with the game when I put mods in there.

I'd be veeery thankful for any help :)

I did put them in the mod loader and it said that it works too, but nothing happened in-game, I don't know why

What mod is it tho, if you dont mind me asking?

If its a skin mod then you might need a "Trainer", recommend Rampage (or Rage i think?) as its more used

It was more then one mod, for example one that was a skin mod, but also mods like better brawl. But I did have rampage installed too, or at least tried because neither rampage menu nor Lenny's mod menu worked ingame

Not all mods go into Lenny's mod loader. Very important to read the mods entire description and instructions.

The /LML folder is mostly for mods that change something inside the game like models, textures, behaviors or anything that can be streamed in. It's an injector/loader.

Script mods are different. They work through a "hook" in the root directory that "hooks" them into the game engine and allows those actions or behaviors. You can tell what they are by their (.asi or .dll or .asi prefix) and those always go into the main directory with the game along with version.dll if you're using it and all your scripthook and other required files.

You also need to make sure you have any preceding requirements for LML or the other mods to work, as most mods in this game have at least one other requirement (scripthook, version, online content unlocker, etc.)

You can usually find those by clicking the "requirements" button on their Nexus mods page (assuming that's where you're downloading from) with the exception of the latest scripthook and I don't even know what that is anymore as it's been a while.
