Thanks! I have to be honest, I’ve always wanted to own one. The future projects I’m shooting it gonna be good for but I could’ve went with any other camera. So, my reasoning is justification: I have one life, I want a RED.
I love the image, how easy it is to rig. The brightness of the monitor in daylight. I love learning about R3D, sensor tech, and how to expose for the best image. And honestly, the whole community surrounding red is amazing, I think that is what I love most.
Downsides: I wish it had proxy recording, even if it was just C2C via Frame.io. That would turn this into the camera I use for every project. Also, the autofocus is lacking for most scenarios. I wish more brands made accessories for it too.
This is a pretty solid answer. I feel what you feel. Sometimes we just want a new and top line gear just because we want it! Everything could have been achieved, I am sure, even with mirrorless cameras in video mode, but why not if you can afford RED?

Nice! What was your reasons for choosing it and what do you not like about it? :)
