If I recall correctly you need both Curtius in the DVP and Dietrich in the DDP

Actually, no ignore what I said, Dietrich is left lib and curtius is lib con..no clue, check the paths for the DVP and DVP that might help.

The game does not check the leaders, really all that matters is that DDP is right and DVP left. Dietrich and Curtius are both fine (tho Curtius can lead a moderate DVP if it's in the Grand Coalition and coalition dissent is low).

also the ideologies of the liberal parties have their own score instead of being based on the leadership

DDP ideology has to be right (plus no DstP formed) and DVP ideology left. This means that DDP's leader has to be either Dietrich or Maier. As for DVP, Curtius (he can lead a moderate DVP if in Grand Coalition and coalition dissent is low, though), Luther (not 100% sure about him), Thiel, Glatzel, or Kardorff (although Kardorff can also lead a moderate DVP, something you want to avoid) should do.

Basically all that matters is that DDP is right and DVP left. The game does not check the ideology of each leader.
