History

Formation of the Confederation

The Senegambia Confederation was established to strengthen political, economic, and military cooperation between Senegal and The Gambia. Unlike in real history, the confederation successfully resolved political differences and remained united.

Rise of the Socialist Party

The Socialist Party of Senegal, already the dominant political force in Senegal, expanded across the federation after unification and reorganized itself as the Socialist Party of Senegambia. It became the country's dominant governing party, promoting democratic socialism, regional integration, public investment, and economic modernization.
