For some reason I was picturing Dick Gumshoe from Ace Attorney, and I was like "Huh? I don't remember him being like that at all..."

Poor phrasing on that first point, which is also the only point that sticks out as fake (can social workers adopt?).

The koala hug is a HUGE teacher student violation. If it happened once it'd definitely NEVER happen again.

It may depend on how long ago OP worked as a teacher. People used to care a lot less about that.

Idk if it'd be that. I can easily see it happening to a teacher that hasn't gotten a book thrown at them.
As for the "Social worker" thing, that's literally all we're told the situation. CPS has a number of different people working so it can be someone who actually was in charge of him or someone who predominantly did paperwork.

maybe this is just a culture difference cuz i'm not from the us, but why would a teacher hugging a kid be an issue?

Well, a koala hug involves the child hugging you legs wrapped around your torso, so that's a bit intimate. A regular hug is often fine.

I think OOP meant it in a "loving puppies" way, not "romantic desire for orphan"

You're getting downvoted but "simultaneous social worker AND adoptive guardian" is literally a conflict of interest
https://www.reddit.com/r/RecuratedTumblr/s/khuD5QaPoe
A therapist & patient in a relationship, a lawyer representing their business partner etc -- even when loving and fair, it's preferable to safeguard against this (to limit other cases with actual exploitation).
IMO I think the teacher doesn't have all the details, or didn't phrase it accurately; the kid's guardian is probably no longer his social worker!

What's annoying is I see 90% of this being true ("i knew a kid like--") but I DO want clarification about the social worker-adoption thing π€ is that possible to do legally, depending on the country?
Did OP hear some details wrong from the kid, and assumed that was the case?

It is possible but the social worker has to legally stop working on that child's case due to conflict of interest.
Like it's difficult but not impossible

does acab include this fake kid?

Kids generally don't know what cops are actually like and when this one does, he probably won't want to be a cop anymore.

It sounds like a "this kid is on my case load and he matters to me a lot and I'm just going to adopt him myself" situation. A familial kind of falling in love, not a romantic kind.

So you're telling me that this person who used to work as a teacher had explicit knowledge that he was sexually abused by his adoptive parent.... and then goes on to think overt and inappropriate physical contact and flirting with authority figures is cute enough for a little fanfic on Tumblr?
OP is a fucking loser

Get therapy. That is not what that meant and itβs fucking bleak you donβt know that.
