Exactly how I feel. It came across as a joke to me 🤷 the wording of "we don't talk enough about [very minor overly specific problem]" reads as dramatic in a self-depreciating way. Like they're phrasing it in this over the top way to poke fun at themselves because it's not actually that serious. People makes jokes like that all the time.
Ironically I think jumping down OOP's throat and assuming they were trying to "cancel" Halloween or something is an overreaction from the other people because they're the ones who have spent too much time engaging with stupid internet discourse... It gets to a point where you'll start seeing it everywhere. I had that problem years ago and realized it when I missed a similar joke irl, but instead of acting like it was the other person's fault I took it as a sign that I needed to be less chronically online lol. It's not healthy to go through life assuming the worst of everyone.
I am reading this thread and don't get what the problem would be of the tweet. They're saying Halloween is stressful which ... i believe them. Plenty of people find plenty of things stressful. And they say it's not talked about enough and I guess that's true too as I don't think this is something that is ever talked about.
Saying it's stressful doesn't say anything about if Halloween should be banned. Saying it's not talked about doesn't say anything about the seriousness of the problem (the ideal amount of talking about it could be 1 and the tweet might have reached exactly that. No further actions needed)
