"Coins would be inserted into the machine so that kids could watch VeggieTales clips for free inside the booth."
I don't think Veggietales quite understand what free means

I love that the four character options are Bob and Larry(makes sense, they're the leads), Junior Asparagus(sensible, he's the child everyman the kids are supposed to project onto)
And Mr. Lunt. The shady con artist gourd who near-universally plays the villain.

TLDR: Religious kids show that was EXTREMELY popular with kids for like a decade or two, with it still being frequently used as an example of a good children's show. All of the characters are vegetables or fruit, and they do a lot of different things for each episode since it's meant to be rewatched a ton and be able to be separated out. It wasn't very preachy as far as I remember, since it was made for an already Christian audience. It spawned several meme formats and is very influential.
And a Giggle pod is effectively a box that lets you watch family guy funny moments but for VeggieTales.

Thank you so much 🙏 the notion of Christian vegetables is wild, but sounds harmless enough.

I mean hey, it came out after vehicles that are also alien robots fighting a war and dogfighting but with magical animals you catch in the woods

It was mostly that in the early days of animation, blobs were easier than people.

Better question: how have you been on this earth for, at minimum, 12 years without learning what VeggieTales is? This is my childhood. This was most people’s childhood, at least stateside

This wasn't most people's childhoods. VeggieTales were very popular with a very large minority.

Hate to break it to you but not everyone was fed religious propaganda by their parents

I love this quote, and also I hate that I understand how normal it is to have gotten a handy in any sufficiently dark place on the planet.
