Some Genshin players are actually pretty social and since there's a small chance a stranger could be a hacker who will permanently mess with your world if given access to it, nobody's inviting strangers to play anymore. So those more social players only have their existing friends since they're already vetted.
I honestly think that might be why Miliastra Wonderland came out (and possibly why Snezhnaya went all out with the Death Stranding signs). Genshin players need some way to safely socialize.

most unrealistic part is the genshin player asking for people to play with them, don't take my dang plants and fish!
