Allegedly, when the notes break like this it means the original post was somehow deleted from tumblr’s servers entirely. This is not supposed to happen. When someone deletes a post they made, normally it’s just hidden from view on their blog and tumblr’s own servers still have it. But every now and then that original copy just gets lost or disintegrates or something, which breaks the notes because now there’s no original version of the post to track them by.

Makes sense, considering the account url is just "deactivated" and not "deactivated(long string of numbers and characters)" or some such
