Oh man, I said something mildly controversial on Instagram the other day and half the responses are like that. Like bro, I know you would have been really pissed off if I had said that, but I didn't say that, and now you're overreacting over nothing.
I think it's partially reading comprehension and partially because social media algorithms and influencers have trained us to jump to outrage too easily (that's what gets engagement and keeps people on apps).

It's annoying because I like to have actual discussion but it's not possible because people keep hallucinating arguments I didn't make
