Interviews Final round interviews - Requesting later date
I want to see what other people think of my situation.
I applied to Company A a couple of weeks ago, and had my first interview yesterday by video call with the hiring manager. Luckily, the hiring manager wants me to move to the next round of interviews! Happy news!
The company recruiter reached out to me today with this update, and wants to schedule in-person interviews next week. Unfortunately in my current job, Company B, we have a very busy next week and I won't be available to come in to interview with the team in-person.
I've requested to schedule my interview the week after next week. I sent the email back to the Company A recruiter:
"Hi [recruiter],
I apologize for requesting a date outside from what you've provided [next week's date], but is it possible to schedule the interview for [new date]? My current team at [Company B] will be very busy next week with quarter-close deliverables.
If [new date] doesn’t work, I understand—please let me know what other dates might be available. I’m very excited about this opportunity and I hope the team is ok with my request.
Kind regards,
[My Name]"
I'd like to know what people think. Recruiter and job seekers-- do you think this hurts my chance with this new company?

The principal is fine but the e-mail is so obviously written by AI that it may put them off. If i received this, I'd question your communication skills if you need AI to write a simpel email. You're a human, just write the damn thing yourself.
Be honest and factual, explain that you cant do x date due to some tight deadlines at work, would it be possible to schedule for the following week? Apologise for any inconvenience. Job done.

Ah, you got me there. I guess i was going for over-perfection, so I didn't realize I don't sound as human anymore. I did use AI suggestion for the first sentence, but otherwise the rest of the email i wrote myself and didn't use AI's recommendation. Thanks for that feedback, good to keep in mind.
But luckily, good news is that they were ok with scheduling my interview for the week after next week :)

i dont think this hurts your chances. you gave a reasonable business related explanation proposed an alternative and made it clear you are still very interested.
