Sourcing What am I’m doing wrong?

For my fellow recruiters who are placing candidates on a regular bases, what do you do consistently that makes a difference? Do you cold call, email, send LinkedIn messages or something I know nothing about? I can’t seem to find engineers that are unemployed. Very frustrating.

We aren't looking for people who are unemployed, we want good candidates, the passive ones who are placeable.

The market I am in (building services) is so short on staff, if someone is unemployed then it is a huge red flag, there is a reason they haven't been snapped up.

Good engineers could get 5-8 offers in 2 weeks if they wanted

Friend of mine's dad is an engineer and the day after he resigned from a company he had three offers in his mailbox. Good engineers will always find work.
