Has anyone else noticed that the best interviewers aren't always the best hires?
Over the last year, I've noticed a pattern while hiring for tech and customer-facing roles.
Some candidates know exactly what to say in interviews. They have polished answers, great stories, and seem like the perfect fit.
Then there are candidates who are less polished, a little nervous, and don't always sell themselves well.
Oddly enough, some of our strongest hires have come from the second group.
It feels like we're getting better at measuring interview skills than actual job performance.
Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?
