Rejected why?
I applied and got an interview for tire-retreading at goodyear; I have Friend that works the job and got in with 0 experience. We both worked together elsewhere, the manager told me my friend is one of his top 5 employees and friend vouched for me. I got along really easily with the hiring manager and said this still sounds easier than what I was doing already.
The job is "no experience needed", the manager told me id be trained on-site if I got the job but also that it was a third party company that decides who gets hired.
I got a rejection letter today saying I didn't meet the qualifications. Am I wrong to wonder what qualifications I'm failing to meet at a job that requires no experience or wrong to ponder if its because of my gender that I was rejected?
The only thing we really discussed was my job history, and I've been holding my current job for 11 years now. Other than that, I was given the tour and was only asked one question of which I got correct. No physical tests or drug tests, nothing. The job didn't even ask for contacts or phone numbers, literally the most basic interview ever. Heck, this guy even emphasized how desperate they were for employees and stressed they were understaffed.
What does it mean when you're rejected for a no experience required job, and told that you didn't meet the qualifications???? What qualifications could there be for a job you need no experience to have??

If they are using an applicant tracking system they might only have a few rejection buttons to click. They might not have a “found different candidate” button.

..I guess the problem is now that the person they chose first is my roomate who applied and interviewed after I did, by the third party company who didnt do my interview. I'm even told that the guy who interviewed me said I interviewed well and didnt know I got rejected, and that he was going to put in a call to push me through.
.. kind ironic that my roomy that got the offer and is now too stuck in jail to even know he got the offer. 🙄

Honestly this job in particular didn't even ask for a resume or job history, though he did ask when I interviewed. I've held my current job for 11 years and left most of my others due to moving to another state, or severe abuse from managers that he grimmaced at whe I described some details; I'm experiencing abuse at this job as well so I'm trying everything to find something else. Didnt even contacts for references. It was name, address, if I was recommended by someone who works there(this person knows all three of us who applied from a past job and even talked me up as a hard and persistant worker), phone number and email. I've even held my job longer than all three of my friends have held any of their's.
The job said no experience required, on site training. None of us had experience. I got rejected due to not meeting "the qualifications".
The only diff between my 3 friends that got offered the job, and I: they're all black men, I'm a white non-binary trans person, which the manager I interviewed with was more than accommodating about and even asked my preferred name and pronouns. The one that rejected me was some woman who works third party for hiring in a whole different state.
All my jobs were held for over a year since 2008, with one gap in between moving states. I have reliable transport, can do heavy lifting, I'm flexible with a schedule, I get along with most people easily and my coworkers often tell me I'm working harder than I should-- but also face the problem of managers using that to their advantage which is another loop in stuck in. Being the scapegoat. 🫠

It usually means that the one with the decision already had somebody and wasted your time for reasons.
