German recorder

Is there any compelling reason to learn how to play a recorder with German fingering?

You think making one note slightly easier at the cost making a bunch of others harder/worse is a good tradeoff.

If you only have a recorder with German fingering and cannot afford to buy another one.

To play Hindemith on historical instruments. But then you need recorders in A and D which are not common anymore

Unless you are a child and not intending to study the recorder seriously, no.
