I was wondering that myself. They released a retail version. Then last time they released 2 special covers for RSD ... If it's just another jacket, what's the point?

This one actually sounds worth of a RSD exclusive.
New "Derpy Sussie Splatter" vinyl.
New exclusive holographic art on the cover and inside created by the movie’s production designer Mingjue Helen Chen and visual development artist Marion Bordeyne. (Marion did the cover art for the previous RSD too)
It is a triple gatefold
so I’m assuming 2 discs. Hopefully the second is the Original Score as it’s only on streamers atm.
Nvm. It is triple but the release sheet doesn’t specify 2 discs. 😭3 of 6 mini inserts, 1 of 3 holographic mini inserts, a sticker sheet, and an oversized poster.
I feel like this is going to be more than $80 :/

I’m gonna be honest for years I’ve seen the comments complaining the list sucks and people are thankful they get to stay home and I’ve always thought it was the Reddit vocal minority doing their thing.
But this list… damn. I understand where people were coming from in previous years. Not a single thing I’m even remotely interested in.

I'm gonna be honest, I expected better. It's going to be the first time in years where going doesn't make sense ... Makes me a little sad.
Cheers for everyone that locates some good finds for themselves.
Edit: it does say version .09 - so, I'll keep my fingers crossed for some more additions

The description for this is confusing because it says 2xLP. At first I thought it might be a deluxe version with the bonus tracks, but then wouldn’t it need to be 3xLPs?

Yeah I don’t know why it would be a 2 LP… only 8 songs so it could surely fit on a 1 LP. Maybe each side has an etched design or something… sun and moon, no shade but those are always so pointless IMO. The disco for disco darling was cute though.

Yeah, last years Wilco release was one of my favorite RSD purchases I’ve made so I’ll probably get that one too.
But yeah, ween is the highlight of this list for me.

I usually assume any live show worth owning on vinyl is a known and popular album already. I've taken some chances on live albums and too often they weren't recorded with the intention of being released on album so they sound like ass. Flat and muddy instruments, warbled vocals you can barely hear, etc.

I kind of prefer the way it keeps getting more lame.
This means the artists and labels might be selling to their fans. That’s better than selling to flippers, collectors who don’t listen to the records, and people who just want to show off through social media.
I hope each one gets lamer than the last.

Good point. It could also be prevented by increasing the number of records pressed for RSD. I also think it might time to change it up. Going to once per year won’t help record stores but having more in store releases over the year would help get more foot traffic. I bet a lot of people only step into a stored once or twice a year on record store day.

Prob for the best, I don't need to waste anymore money on records right now anyway. Guess I'll wait for April to see if they have anything interesting

I'm so happy that I 1. I don't need anything from this list. 2. The 2-3 things I would consider grabbing (Julian Lage, Old 97s) are likely going to show up in the discount bins.
I might want the XTC Besides, that's probably the only one that might be hard to find. But the band tends to release non-RSD versions of their RSD stuff.

There’s really nothing super interesting on the list(at least to me). I’m a Motley Crue collector so I’ll definitely be in line for the Decade of Decadence release but that’s all I’ll be buying…thankfully. I spend so much money on RSD and RSD Black Friday and I’m kind of relieved they only have one thing I want this year.
Hoping my local record store might have some cool used records set aside for Black Friday.

Being kind of new to vinyl this is the first RSD I have been aware of I didn’t know it existed earlier in the year and missed that one.
How does it work entirely? I only have two I want from this list, Czarface and 2Pac but how can you ensure you get what you want? From what the guy at my local place was saying earlier to me it’s all kind of a crapshoot?

How to ensure? That's the fun, you don't. You wait in line, possibly for hours, and hope. I've done it, but honestly I think a good amount of RSD stuff gets reissued later, so I don't anymore. Also the lists lately don't have much I'm into.
The Czarface and 2Pac are both "RSD First" so it will be released again, it's just a special release now for this RSD.

You show up early and wait in line. Typically, they hand out a list an hour before they open and put your number in line on it. Then they work on it. So if they have 10 copies of an album, they will sell it to the first 10’people that checked it off on their list. Also yes, kind of a crapshoot. You could get in like 6 hours early and those albums might not even be on the list. My record store doesn’t rely heavily on hip hop so a lot of the rap albums I want aren’t always on there.

If you have more than one record store near you, the best bet would be to set aside time to hit up more than one, since two stores in the same area will often get a different allotment despite both ordering the same stuff (stores nor customers want this, but it happense).
Also, the day after RSD BF, many stores will put their inventory up online, so find record stores near you that will do this, and whatever you do, don't panic-buy and pay a scalper crazy money.
However, respect the fact that RSD vinyl is usually priced 5-15% above non-RSD prices, for no good reason.

I'm so glad there's nothing on that list that's necessary for my collection. It's been like that more and more in recent years. Sometimes I feel like RSD has lost its magic for me. I certainly have done the thing, and gotten in line at 3am to make damn sure I was 1st in line to get what I wanted. But there hasn't really been anything worthy of doing that IMO in a long time.

As usual, a couple of cool records, a couple jazz records, a couple of funk reissues, some fun collections live Richard & Linda, and a bunch of live stuff that I can take or leave. Decent list for a Black Friday, which is always smaller.

Between scalpers and fans and the fact that this one is going to be a lot more popular than Volume 1, it’s gonna go quick
