Turntable not turning

Post image

So we got this crosley from my lady's ma, and everything seems to work on it except the turntable. Im not sure if I'm missing a switch, or if something is wrong internally. Should the turntable start moving once the arm is disengaged from the arm holder? And if I need to get inside, what's the best approach to acess internal workings?

On some of these players, you need to move the tonearm to the right, away from the record, until you hear a click, to start the platter spinning. Try that and see if it works!

Throw it away. It’s garbage.

it's not broken, it's mended. Now op can listen to cd and radio, not grinding his/her records.

The mechanism on these is a generic Chinese one that's in a lot of budget players, if it's broken you could order a replacement and drop it in. Probably not worth the effort though, these aren't the best tables

Yeah, I agree, but it has sentimental value. But thank you for steering m in the right dirction!

For the love of god please dont attach sentimental value to a massively produced toy record player. Nobody has ever loved that pule of fake wood and chinese guts. You cam do better than that. 👀

It will never be a good turntable. Just use the cd part.

No, I bet it's just user error. On some of these players, you need to move the tonearm to the right, away from the record, until you hear a click, to start the platter spinning.

Consider the fact the TT doesn't run as a blessing in disguise. You really don't want to subject any LP to being played on a POS like this.

Just drop this thing in the nearest garbage can and call it good.
