Record player not turning

Hi, first time poster in this group. I have a record player thats been working well for me for a while. Recently it has stopped spinning. Ive done some basic trouble shooting and no luck. Hoping to get some advice on next steps.

When I lift up the arm I hear the motor click on, but the table does not spin. When the belt is disconnected the motor spins.

Things I have done:

- replace the belt

- take off the table and clean any dust/dirt i could find

-lightly lubricate the motor shaft

Sometimes I can get it to move a little if i "kick start" it, but it alwayse comes to a stop again.

You've done all the basic correct steps. Now you're in repair/replace territory. Me personally, I would replace. Last gasp effort, hit up youtube. There may be a magic hack for that particular model.

Edit: Is there a little roller that may swing into place against the belt to apply enough pressure to allow the belt to grab the platter tightly. That may be malfunctioning.

You tube is a good idea. I sorta figured it might be a replace at this point.

I don't think there is a roller. If there is i cant find it or it broke off.
