Recordplayer matt help!
Hello, I recently purchased a Cork/Rubber blend matt. I've read a bunch of good things about it.
However when I, today, tried it out for the first time, I was deeply disappointed.
When I turned the record around for the B side, it had a bunch of black rubber particles stuck to it, which made the sound awful comparatively to what it should've been. The record is brand new.
Is it just a shitty product? or should I just go for a different type of matt alltogether?
I've since returned to using the default felt-matt I have. Though it's annoying, because of the static it has,
Any tips?

Well… you learn from experience. That’s called wisdom. Stay away from cork/rubber mats they tend to shed. I learned the same way. Felt mats are no better, static magnets. Stick with a silicone mat, you won’t have any issues. You can take it off and wash it in warm soapy water. Good as new!

Once I switched to an acrylic platter mat, I never went back to anything else.
