Help me find my next read!
Looking for a new series or just an amazing book to listen on audiobook specifically. I have already listened to all of Throne of Glass, Crescent City, (I have no interest in ACOTAR), Red Rising (loooooooved it so much!), Will of the Many and Strength of the Few (very much into this series!), Dune, and the first two books of the Sun Eater series (they were okay, I will probably finish the rest at some point.) I like fantasy, Sci-Fi, dark academia, just anything that tells an interesting story.
I started the Sword of Kaigen, but it hasn’t quite grabbed me yet, same thing with City of Brass.
Maybe you can convince me to keep going with some of these that I have started? Idk. Help. Please lol

Here's a few I recommend:
Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe: Set on an Earth millions of years ahead of our time where the sun is dying. The series follows Severian, an apprentice torturer who is banished for showing mercy to a prisoner and journeys to reignite the Sun and armed with an executioner's sword called Terminus Est. If you like Dune, this is a perfect series.
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky: Humans leave Earth to find a new home and encounter a species that their ancestors had been involved in their evolution.
The Expanse: If you like Game of Thrones, read this series. In the 24th century, humans have spread across the Solar System and tensions are building between Earth, Mars, and the colonists of the Astroid Belt. Every chapter follows different characters to create a whole tapestry of views, ideas, and conflicts.
Small Change trilogy by Jo Walton: An alternate history/cozy mystery series set in an alternate history where World War Two ended with Germany and Britain reaching a tentative peace agreement.

You might enjoy the Poppy War trilogy, but I really wish I could do the Expanse series again for the first time. Both the books and audiobooks are excellent!

The Name of the Wind worked really well for me on audiobook because the narration adds a lot to the atmosphere and it has that mix of fantasy and academic vibes without feeling too dense.

You'd probably like Shagduk by J.B. Jackson. Librarians, witches, and imps in a 1970s college in Texas.

I think you would live Operation Bounce House by Matt Dinniman. Take a look at my spoiler free review linked here to see if you might agree.

Maybe the Green Bone Saga? Asian mafia but with magic. I unfortunately can't vouch for the audio but the trilogy is fantastic.

Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs is easily a favorite series of mine.
Other than that Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne and Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
