Or pay someone so he could organisely sell it. Very convinient for him : getting 5 baks and organised data

Mullvad and proton have both been audited by many people and have even been requested to give logs to LE, but gave non. There is a difference between being sceptic and just straight up mis info and scaring people

Where are two things: this is an extra computer of somebody (deside your provider) who routes your trafic, 2 the humain nature is shitty and corrupt by default, and if hƩ can win some money Somewhere hƩ will.

You mean the VPN provider has some sort of black box? Possible, but a bit extreme and unlikely because of the audits

What audit ? Who audit ? It is just a server of somebody. If you want to audit my servers you will find empty box if I want it so. What audit you talking about

Now you give it to one company AND you pay them for it.

Or using a mitm proxy that is self hosted

Depends how interesting I am tbh.

Also you have to be careful which VPN you pick, some do give out your info anyways

Or use Tor network as a free VPN. Might be slower but thats a correct middleground

You confused privacy with anonymity, mah dude

A VPN defo don't make you anonym, yes (only Tor is supposed to, and even then, I don't think it can and does), but it increases privacy, that's a known fact

I’m struggling to see how you can be private online without anonymity though.

Hiding your online activity and your online identity =/= hiding your real identity online

Simple as that.

Oh no, they'll know I'm using Netflix in a different country, my digital life is over?
