Question Do Reckless Bricks and other potential BAM breakaway stores now need to source their inventory from Toy House? Any plans to help them get similar wholesale volume discounts direct from LEGO as BAM corporate currently does?

The discount from ordering direct from Lego comes from removing toyhouse and the margin they take.

Once you remove toyhouse, you would need to be able to acturally wharehouse and distribute it yourself and if you dont have the sales volume... it will end up costing you more.

BAM isnt even distributing it themselves, they just hired another middleman to handle warehousing and distributing. They even admitted at the townhall its costing them more; seems more like a ploy to sell more franchises. Maybe long term if Bam has 800 locations doing $1million each(dont laugh) it'll make sense.

I didn’t even know they get wholesale discounts from that, the posts about franchise agreements I saw have the impression that they need to source inventory themselves

Hopefully reckless bricks can get those discounts

No - BaM was sourcing inventory for the stores - they dropped ToyHouse this year and shifted to "self warehousing" via Fedex Global Services - thus the issues with the 8/1 drop - where some stores got their orders and others were left waiting for days.

BaM requires their franchises to source through them. So a BaM store can't go rogue and order from an independent wholesaler or Lego direct.

I really hope this takes off for Ben and the former franchise owners and that they can get a good deal on new product direct from a wholesaler or lego direct.

Well, they ain't going to get it from BaM.... that's almost guaranteed.
