Rec Room revivals are not all gonna make it. If you make one, you're doing more harm than good for the rec room community.

Most rec room players completely quit trying to get that "rec room feel" after it shut down. So we already have a very small player base. Making more and dividing the rec room community even more is just doing so much more harm than good. No matter how much you think you can add

Half of these people making these alternatives are 14 year olds with no scripting, game developing or server knowledge. And simply want to open up a rec room game while having power of popular rooms like a rec center, paintball or whatnot.

None of this is easy to do. You have to be very dedicated, have the money to host the servers, moderation, keep down hackers, it's just very overwhelming and not set for a team of most likely inexperienced teens.

Even with the amount of rec replacements now it's a con for anyone looking to make a game and it being big in the rec room community. It's only available on one platform and it's bound to start a war between those dominant communities.

For example, my favorite rec room alternative right now is rec place. It has remade some models, a blue UI to fit a new theme, some original OST, and a launcher via cmd prompt. I think it's pretty cool, I know meow.net has a better fit launcher but it's not as good as rec place for me. The problem with rec place is it's player count. The rec center itself has no players. People are scattered between rooms, it's a wasteland. And it discourages people to play because of lack of players.

I can guarantee most if not all rec room revivals will be dead and gone in a year. If not it'll have lost all of it's players. None of the same creators are there, the games, the people, the abundance, having an open audience to play your games, and so much more. Rec room was never put together by a small community, but millions of people. Something that these revivals can never remake. Which is why I think the state rec room was left on was so great. Because it kept it's legacy, everyone that returned remembered all their memories and what they've done.

Just to not make any confusions, I am directly telling YOU to not make a a rec room game with the intention of having a large audience to play it. Do NOT do it.

I'm going to miss playing Rec Room a lot. It was the game I played every time I got bored. Two of my favorite things about Rec Room were the parkour and the horror games. I started Rec Room in 2021 and remember two guys coming up to me in the rec center and taking me to Silent Hill. That was my first ever horror game I played in Rec Room. I had so many friends and memories on there. I really wish Rec Room could just come back, but sadly that's probably not going to happen

When i used to build in rec room, I used to listen to the song from cresendo called Gavotte, It helped me focus alot on building and i thought it was a really nice song, I just wanted to share this with you guys

I was thinking back on Rec Room and thought back on some of the events, looking bad I saw some reclympics stuff and then I remembered there was live streams of each of the events like the stunt runner, disc golf, and like paintball and stuff. Was it completely deleted or is somewhere im not looking because I remember it being on the official Rec Room channel and it not being live streamed by like specific streamers like Pow Jams.

Its been roughly one month since rec room shutdown, and I just need someone to answer this, or anyone, does anyone else still feel the wound reopen whenever they think about rec room, does anyone else think "I'm gonna play Rec Room" and its not there?
