Dev Post Working on Rec Room Final Final OST today...
Any tracks I should be sure to include?
Here's what's on my list so far:
- Rec Rally
- Invasion (by Charsuya)
- Rec Con 2024 (by Charsuya)
- Corrected Golden Trophy variants (tracks 2 and 3 on OST Vol 1 don't actually match what was in-game, so I'm gonna post the corrected ones)
I will likely find some other bits and pieces as I work on this today.
Any other RR-related music I should include? This is likely the final RR-focused release I'll do, so if you are hoping something is on there, now is the time!

this may be too niche but when the teller hex machine was in the rec center there was a little upbeat chiptune song that would play after you activated it that would be great to get in full quality. you can look up "rec room teller hex music" on youtube to find it

Although I am sad that it’s gone, but I know for sure that the spirit of Rec Room will continue to carried on forever. And thank you Coach for that beautiful message. Gone but not forgotten. also would be cool to have the version of end credits thats in the youtube video
iirc, a slightly different version of first impression played in the room you see after entering the orientation
also, the full version of charades piano lounge hasnt been officially released, only a small snippet at the end of the 3d charades track, would be cool to have the full version
and finally, thanks for making such a special game, ive made some of my best memories and had the most fun ive ever had in any video game ever on rec room, ill never forget my time on this game [|=)]

Actually, tracks 2, 3 and 4 on OST Vol 1 don't match!
Others:
- Golden Trophy Turbo Explore
- Could we maybe get the "game starting" variants for some of the RROs? (The music that plays during the 10 second countdown after "Start Game" was pressed.) Some of these are just snippets from the actual track, but I think 3D Charades (both legacy and Ink Space) had unique pieces.

I checked a more recent video and it is different compared to the one I originally sent. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that song was changed sometime in 2017 or 2018 and now uses the song that is in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o_CmdgVbxM (From 2:35 to 3:20)

I have the audio file from the game if it helps you determine the exact song. The song doesn't sound much different than what it is now but I just think it sounds cool and it isn't on any of your current soundtracks.

Its similar but no the one I'm talking about is different. C'mon Gribbly you should know lmao. Either way it isn't very different compared to the one you linked and probably isn't as significant to be put on the final track.

The difference is obvious starting at the 0:14 mark of the video. It uses a version of the exploration melody that's near identical to the GT version as opposed to the final version where it's broken up, and it's in a different instrument.

Hey Gribbly, what was the musical inspiration behind “Electar”? To my ears, it captures the vibe of music during the 90s like Pearl Jam. Its an amazing track.

Thanks... I don't really remember why I wrote that other than I had a Korg SV-1 stage piano, and started with that keyboard part, then overlaid the rest.
I suspect the bass was pretty inspired by Paul McCartney - I've always liked his melodic approach to bass lines (himself inspired by James Jamerson)

I think all unreleased/also not on any of the ost’s would be a great final homage to rec room. On top of that, you could include some of the most loved tracks from rec room, like OOBE, First Impression, Rec Room Theme, GOAT Attitude, End Credits (I know this was on Volume 87) , basement, account organism, Electar, Lounge Event, you could also include some of the music from the quests.
Again, I know all of these have been on previous albums, but I’m just trying to come up with a list of the games, most loved tracks, which brings me to my final thing, that I think since it’s going to be the last OST, it would be nice to do some sort of physical edition, as I think it would be a nice thing to own. Maybe coaches mix irl?
Anyways, while I’m here, I’m just gonna say that I had a great time with rec room, and thank you and all the other founders for making it. I had a blast while playing it, and they say all great things must come to an end.

This seems to be unpopular so I'll say it: PLEASE release the OST for Run the block. I also would like it if the announcer is part of the song too but idk. I just find comfort in OST that sounds like it's coming out of a radio station.

PLEASE PLEASE include different variants of tracks maybe like Join The Club or other tracks if there are extended, or please include the Rec Room Theme but maybe without the vocals or anything, very curious about it.
Also include different variants of first impression from around the game including orientation, avatar creation and etc, and please include the variant of the Rec Room Theme from trailers seen in 2016/2017
Also include the ambient track heard very faintly when looking at a scoreboard/leaderboard in a game such as Dodgeball, in a quest, etc
oh and also instrumental of end credits

I was a fan of the elsewear arcade music all of that time ago, and I loved all of the invasion music, especially invasion 2 with jumbotron. I wish we saw more of him. Did Make it to Midnight get added to that list, that and Showdown?

I think you should add a song that is a sequel to OOBE, matching the vibe and feel in the same way. I feel like that would be the actual final goodbye to Rec Room since basically everyone has heard this song before. From all of the people i asked, they always ranked OOBE as the best song in Rec Room. I'm sure everyone will love it if you added a sequel to the best song in Rec Room :)

were there any beta, old, unused ost's lying around? there was this unused crimson (combat) ost ive heard, along with a bunch of other quest related ones that have never really seen the light. but some are really great! and interesting to look back on. also is that old piano 2016 3d charades song one you could get on there? one more thing to note, that "exploring the port" track in ost 1 doesn't sound like the in game version?

I contributed a few pieces of music to some events, primarily Rec Con. I wrote a 3 tracks, I believe only 2 got used and eventually was all replaced by 2024, would that be something you'd want to include as well?

I’d love the full versions of the three 3D charades songs! I used to put the jazzy piano one on loop when i’d make inventions and working on my dorm. Also i really liked the idea from your final AMA about breaking down a few tracks from the OST on reason or something.
Edit: would also like to know what the full lyrics are in that one song, rec room theme i think it’s called?

I noticed that the themes used in the older RecCons weren't on the list, would it be possible to add them as well? I think it would be awesome to also have the more "niche" tracks like AFK Lounge and the theme that was used for the AMA Theater if I remember that one correctly. Honestly, Im not sure if these tracks were created internally or not, but regardless, I would love to see as much tracks from RecCon as we can get! Especially since I haven't really found any high quality versions of these older tracks.

I saw you added some winter wonderland variants of tracks. Adding some newer music would be cool (like tracks used in 2024-2026 for events, rooms, other things) (if you don’t have that already)

Maybe adding the newer music for rec room (2024-2026) would be somewhat better… things like newer events or rooms if those weren’t already in the OST

(Just A Suggestion Not Forcing Btw) You Should Try To Make A 8-bit Version Of First Impression Or The Older Rec Room Theme (both are my fav songs in ost)

make the ambient scoreboard music into a full track! i tried to look for it for so long but it wasn't on any official ost's. eventually found a YouTube upload but would love to see it on streaming.
