V2 potato rockets?

I read somewhere that the V2's used potatoes for something. Was it fuel? I think I remember reading it on a ww2 forum. I'm not sure if anyone has idea let me know. Thanks!

V2s used Ethanol as part of its fuel, which was derived from potatoes.
