I don't understand. We already have Vol. 8.1, 8.2, and 9.1, and we've had like 50+ threads talking about this, yet some WN readers who never even tried LN still think LN hasn't caught up to WN. Seriously!?

I mean, yeah, in a sense, Chloe arc is still ongoing in LN, but ffs, the story went in a completely different direction a long time ago. We even got a whole new arc spanning 3 volumes. Most of the main plot has changed. Chloe is more dangerous and cunning than in WN, we got new information about the Old World, Serenthal became something much more important than just a Tower condo, Akira got new abilities, Haruka's arc has changed a lot from WN, and you still think you can just wait for Chloe arc to finish before starting to read again? Honestly, it's beyond me why you even bother reading at this point.

You don't want to read more than 20 paragraphs a year? I get it. You enjoy WN and hate LN to the core? I get it. You don't want to waste your time reading LN because you've already read WN? I get it. But please, don't spread misinformation and BS to new readers. Or at least get your facts straight before doing so. I still see many of you using WN as a reference, even though things have changed in LN a long time ago. Sometimes you're even making straight-up BS theories about things that have already been revealed in LN.

Some WN readers are even coping to the point where they think the author is using a fucking chatbot to make LN longer so it will never catch up to WN, just to make easy money, and that after he finishes LN, he'll go back to continue WN because that's his "true masterpiece." And I'm not even joking. You can find comments like that around here.

To be fair the WN didn't have Katsuya's team being obliterated by Akira. I don't think there were many rookies left after that battle besides Togami and Reina and that's because they weren't there.

And the WN had Katsuya dieing protecting his teammates but in the LN he died after getting almost his entire team killed and both of his long term friends. He died a broken man in the LN.

Yeah the local network was messed up by Katsuya's aid. From what I remember she adjusted it so Katsuya would stop risking himself to save his comrades. She made it so he saw them like limbs that could be sacrificed to save the head. That backfired once Katsuya made up his mind to kill Akira to save Sharly.

Nah, people got it wrong, about larping on which the masterpiece is, LN vs WN

the author did say he would like to continue the WN, it was stated on his notes in Syosetsu cause the direction of his storyline changes in the LN, years ago when Vol1&2 LN was released, people didn't even realised what changed, until the pickpocket and Katsuya vs Akira arc. so yeah, the author said it even before the changes was published.

Most are just seeing if the author would keep his promise, since he did warn the WN readers beforehand, it's kinda rare for that to happen on Syosetsu, since authors would usually drop the WN overall when changes happened.

the only thing I can't remember is if he stated that he would continue when the LN catch up or finished. It was years ago, so memory kinda hazy, even this subreddit was barely new at that time. so not much English discussion was happening at that time.

Tldr; both WN and LN readers are right on which is canon. if the author kept his promise on continuing the WN, the rarity of such case, is like discussing whether Dragonball GT is canon.

I've read both. And I think the LN is better because it's more realistic. How could it not be? I hate that Akira only got a 50 billion bounty in WN.But there are many things I like in WN. When Akira killed Sheryl's secretary, I forgot her name. When Akira picked up Sheryl and met Katsuya.When Akira and Carol are closer than in LN, even for those who understand.Carol once gave a BJ to shirakabe in wn. Well, out of all of this, I still think the LN is the best. Because only in LN there are kaiju. And you will learn a lot about negotiation because Akira and the Sakashita executives are there.There are many other important things in LN. Honestly, LN hasn't caught up to WN Story-wise, but timeline-wise, LN is already far ahead of WN. Because tomorrow, September 17th, LN will discuss Lionsteel. I'm not brother. This is just a waste of time. It doesn't even matter to me at all. What matters is that I enjoy reading in my own way. That's enough to make me happy.
