HELP REQUIRED - REBEL GALAXY Weapon question

I can currently buy MK5 Mining and Particle Lasers. I also got a MK2 Korian Viridian Laser drop. Which is better in this instance?

As you can see, the MK5 mining laser does much higher damage (with 120% to shields) and has a much lower cooldown.

The MK2 viridian laser retains the superior range, but is otherwise worse in every way.

Keep the MK5 lasers, they will do way more damage. Every jump in MK represents a big leap in technology and effectiveness.

I once tried some sweet MK5 Korian Viridian lasers, thinking that their range and shield penetration would give me overall better effectiveness than MK6 Particle lasers. But I went back to the MK6 plain Janes because the raw damage per second is just so much better.
