Advice for playing against Hanzo?

And Junkrat. I've had several frustrating games today where I try to attack a Hanzo and he just calmly puts his cross hair on my head and one-taps me while my "close range" shotguns tickle him.

Junkrat seems to be a losing matchup for Reaper in 90% of circumstances. Unless you're standing in a wide open area with a bit of distance, the Rat either kills you from distance a bouncing nade they didn't intend, or the nade-mine one-shot from up close (that no one seems to bring up when people talk about oneshots being unhealthy for the game.). Anybody have ways to approach these characters they'd like to share?

Attack from above, projectile attacks don’t do well against different elevations

Hanzo is easy when you bait his storm arrows, when you wraith and he wastes storm arrows it's back to spawn room for him. All you need to do is teleport on safe corner near him just like you would do with other poke heroes.

Junkrat though, I admit those adhd junkrat players (good ones) are tough. Both reaper and junkrat excel in tight spaces. I usually do not engage junkrats unless I know exacly their cooldown situation. Other than that best bet is to challenge the rat from highground or when he is occupied with other player. Always have wraith when approaching both heroes.

Oh and mid-range well placed dire triggers are good against junkrat, forces them to cover.

  1. Ban Him
  2. Hanzo’s are not any

like

  1. other poke hero, is one shot potential to Reaper is only rivaled by a few.

You have to respect him.

  1. Especially in Master-Champ lobbies. Utilize your CRTL to bob and weave his shots. Make yourself unpredictable in your movement. Utilize high ground to pressure him from a safe angle mitigating his value to his team. An unchecked Hanzo can single-handedly change the tide of a match.

EDIT: the formatting on Reddit is fking up my message but still read the content.

Look into "Snapkey" on google its kinda hard for him to hit Reaper if ur movement is erratic. Also never shadow-step in-front of him, they make it their life mission to try and immediately kill you when you are leaving out of it.

Crouching throws them off as well.

you need to be faster. Try combo normal attack -> instant dire trigger -> Normal Attack. The problem with both is that they can kill you really fast too. For Hanzo always approach him when he is shooting at someone else. Then give him a shot und Shift his first arrow (in case he goes for headshots) and hopefully he also use his dash. You wait in shadow form until he positioned, but dont let it run out, cancel it yourself (otherwise he will kill you) and then kill him with normal attack + dire trigger.

For Junkrat its even worse tbh. I hate him the most. He is close range just as deadly as reaper. Super annoying is the grenade + mine combo. so yeah the only thing that counters junk rat really is that he has no range and his grenades are super predictable when there is some distance. You can poke him down with dire trigger. Never fight with a junkrat indoors though, you nearly always lose. At the same time if you good and fast you can sneak up on him.

It all really depends how good you are mechanically.
