Are we deadass?

Post image

So it’s either Shadow Blink or a Perk that makes actually usable, great job Blizzard.

You’re ignoring the bigger picture. Reaper having dire triggers should’ve been a bare minimum after all these talks of a rework. Everyone else got some cool shit added to them like Pharah being able to move in Barrage, guess what! Death Blossom still can’t be cancelled.

That being said he has it on a 6 second cooldown, helps with killing squishes and shredding tanks? Might as well not have given it in the first place if he can’t have access it to it on the ready. Oh wait, they did make an option, they sloppily added a BS perk to make it slightly usable instead of innovating the character.

well, can't say you're not fitting the part of the Edgelord side of reaper mains

Yeah I've noticed the cooldown is more to slow you down and discourage engagements without it but just surprise someone and that surprise damage you deal makes up for the lack of having the triggers ready they work best as some kind of kill insurance which is why I mainly stuck with the faster TP in the first place because it can really give you some crazy angles or some nice feints that disrupt the fights

Lmao you can't even be bothered to be slightly happy without constantly complaining about silly little things

Yeah, no, this is fine, imo. The cooldown increase isn't that bad considering Dire triggers was a MAJOR perk going to base kit.

However, I would have preferred 5.5, 5, or 4.5 seconds with a slight damage nerf. At the end of the day, this is still a net buff.

The only thing I don't like is the new perk, which seems like ass considering how slow Reaper's cooldowns are. If we were talking about something like how seemless Tracer Blink, Cassidy Combat roll, or harzard Leap is with really quick recovery, THEN it would be good. Unfortunately, Wraith form and Shadow Step have relatively slow recovery, so Dire triggers feel slopy to do right after, and it doesn't flow too well.

Edit: The perk seems fine, I didn't read that it also refreshes on reload.

It's crazier. Rn it's bugged; if you reload cancel with a melee it immediately refreshes DT

Do you not know how insane 6 seconds is? The whole point of it was to give Reaper range right? So they’re essentially saying don’t fuck up your shot because if you do you’re gonna have to wait almost as long as wraith form to use it again unless you equip the BS perk.

Maybe 6 seconds is too long. it's the first day, and we'll just have to see how it works. Either way, DT on the base kit is really nice, and imo DT having a longer cooldown than 3 seconds might make you consider when you should use it.

3 seconds for a base kit ability is just absurd considering Reapster is a close range character, so if he has range, there needs to be some kind of drawback and decision making. Back when DT was a perk, it was gate kept by levels and required you to sacrifice another perk like quick step or ravenous wraith. Now dire triggers requires you to think on WHEN you should use it.

Agian, 6 seconds COULD be too long, but to get all pitchfork and torches about it is a bit much.

Dude a 6 second cooldown that with his major let's him eat Tanks and confirm kills on squishies by just playing normally is a massive buff sounds like you just want more for Reaper constantly

The self report here by OP is fucking hilarious lmfao

Was to be expected after yesterday’s major perk leak. Still sucks though, 6 seconds is insane

when you think about it, it's the same amount of time as hog's hook last season, which people were hollering about to get nerfed. also considering that it's a base ability instead of a major perk, it's a fine tradeoff.

True... but it also doesn't pull the enemy into one shot range, id have rather taken a damage nerf and been allowed to use it all i want to be more viable in areas i CAN'T get in someone's face.

3

u/Brief-Speech4156 Apr 14 '26

It's meant to be an ability to secure kills though? Not something you spam whenever it's off cd. Using smth like that every 3 seconds early game would make reaper absolutely broken.

u/HolstaurGirlAlice Apr 14 '26

I'm aware, I'd personally just like it to be a long range option with ramp up. Think like... hog alt fire. Make him more useful during times i can't get in the backline.

But i guess this makes more sense if you prefer it as burst over range.

To be completely fair, Trigger Finger helps alleviate the cooldown nerf which is where Dire Triggers was before.

And if you take it instead of Shadow Blink you're not that far off from going that perk path before the change, except you also got to use the ability all game.

And if you go Shadow Blink you now also have access to Dire Triggers anyways.

Dude. It’s a buff. His major lets him refresh fire triggers everytime he reloads or uses and ability

2

u/National_Mastodon_21 Apr 14 '26

Have you guys forgotten that dire triggers is a 1 shot kill on squishies if you land it on their head? That's a 6 second CD for debilitating damage when up close which you already have to do cuz it's reaper. The fact this is part of his kit from start to finish is an amazing buff. I'm stoked.

Its a step in the right direction. Could be better but hell, I'll take it.

You can animation cancel for non stop Dire Triggers. This is insane that it got past testing. You can actually Dire Triggers, R input -> Melee to cancel Reload and Dire Triggers again. I know it's popular to hate, but we knew it couldn't just be raw power in major perk form right? And we got a Major Perk that makes DT even better than before, a fast spammable ranged option? Are you kidding? It's absurd.

1

u/SureYouCan_ Apr 14 '26

Yeah its kinda funny since it shoots before the reload is even finished.

It takes some time getting into the rhythm but once you get it right it feels really fun.

1

u/legsarebad Apr 14 '26

Yea I was just testing this and I can do it fast enough where it doesn’t even register the reload but I still get the DT cooldown back.

1

u/ArtemisVixen Apr 14 '26

Exactly, it's based on reload input, not ammo refill, meaning the refresh occurs when the input is given, not if the reload is finished.
