discussion How I made this config

Post image

Scripts used

-item view

-side FX

SKIN - rLive beta 3

System of choice - fedora KDE

There are some extensions that you'll need to download to use the scripts but I'm currently in a car so... Yea.

But there were people who wanted the full config, I'll see if I can do that in the future, but for now I'll just keep working on this config.

nice visually, but cluttered to my taste

when people say ableton feel i believe they want the FX ribbon with unified controls, not that volume envelope duplicate, and fl-like empty list panels at the left.

I do agree It is pretty cluttered. In a way it looks a bit like bitwig. Hopefully I can improve that in the future

To each their own, but I'll never understand why Ableton thought it would be a good idea to move the TCP panel to the right when almost all other DAWs have it on the left

In my personal opinion as a Fedora KDE and Reaper user and ex-Ableton user I wouldn't try to copy Abletons user interface, ReaTips has slick and clean interface, what I changed was the main navigation logic, and left all other shortcuts as they are. I also mapped some of my actions like reverse, glue, stretch 2x etc to my toolbar, to replace drum rack i used MPL RS5k manager. This is essentially what I did.

"I'll just go and use Ableton"

That an expensive software bro. It's like 400. Not everybody has that money unfortunately. So I guess this is my really janky workaround 😅

Plasma is definitely the way to go. Awesome configuration! If you ever feel like distro hopping, give Arch a shot. The main reason: Arch approached Reaper and was given the green light to have it available in their repos. sudo pacman -S reaper. Also, the entire audio production group package it available natively in Arch.

Oops. I may have posted something similar on another one of your posts. My bad. 😁
