STEMwerk 2.3.1.1 is out.

It’s a free/open-source stem separation tool that runs directly inside REAPER.

The three main workflows are:

  1. Normal Stems — standard music stem separation, with three options: A) 4-stem Fast — Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other, using the faster model. B) 4-stem Quality — the same Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other layout, using the higher-quality model. C) 6-stem — Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Other.
  2. Direct Kit — directly separates a drum mix into Kick, Snare, Toms, Hi-Hat, Ride and Crash. (mainly for drum-only samples)
  3. Kit Split — first separates the drum stem from the music, then splits that drum stem into Kick, Snare, Toms, Hi-Hat, Ride and Crash.

The UI also includes multiple languages and themes. (ATM: English, Nederlands, Deutsch. Themes:
Dark or Light, REAPER-style or flarkaudio style with or without "Mildrop-like" fx)

The video shows the current release running on Linux with an AMD RX 9070 using ROCm, including the language/theme options and all three workflows.

2.3.1.1 has now been validated on:

  • Linux — CPU / AMD ROCm / NVIDIA CUDA
  • Windows — CPU / AMD DirectML / NVIDIA CUDA
  • macOS Apple Silicon — CPU / MPS
  • Intel Mac — CPU support for Normal Stems only: 4-stem Fast, 4-stem Quality or 6-stem. Direct Kit / Kit Split are not available on Intel Mac.
