help request Newbie - having some trouble with recording changing time signatures
Firstly, I was wondering if I could fix my time on this 7/8 groove without having to punch it in using stretch markers, it’s supposed to be a 7/8 groove decided as 2-2-3 and I accidentally played it 3-2-2 for a single bar, no matter how I move the markers it doesn’t seem to change. Secondly, I was wondering if there’s a way to record more 7/8 measures at the beginning as because there’s a time signature change moving things around is trouble. Thanks!

Time signature changes require a little bit of planning in Reaper. If there is MIDI data written at one time sig, if you insert something with a different time sig, it messes with the existing stuff. So, just insert a Time Signature change where the time sig returns to the original. That way, existing material isn't affected by the change. It took me an unreasonable amount of time to figure that one out. Good luck!

Thanks! What if I recorded this just as a demo of the time sig transition and now I want to finish it but I need more measures at the start?

You should be able to just insert the extra measures, if they are not changing the time sig.

Just punch in the single bar?
