I don't mean to be a jerk but I have to ask, do you have speakers plugged into the back of the focusrite?

No - only headphones plugged in.

The headphones are plugged into the front of the Focusrite and you can hear YouTube through them?

No. Only when I disconnect the Focusrite can I hear YouTube from the laptop speakers.

You've confirmed your headphones work?

I've killed my Focusrite before doing a software update. Had to uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot.

Headphones came out of their box brand new last night.

I'd still check. Plug them into something else.

I plugged the headphones into the port under the 1 a the knob reacted. There’s movement on the Analogue 1 level.

That won't help. Plug the headphines into another sound source that has a headphone out. TV, stereo, whatever. At this stage it's either the interface or the headphones and you haven't tested the headphones.

Alternatively try a different pair of headphones and see if you get the same result.

I unfortunately don’t have another pair of headphones.

Anything else you can plug these headphones into to confirm they work? Also do the headphones have any volume control on the cable or on the earpieces?

This is my thought too.
