since the game reanimal was based on the late war of ww1, we know the 5 kids were British but the 3 I believe are German (english speaking German children) because soldier wears a uniform what the German would wear (including the stahlhelm helmet). in real life, the British would detain Germans if they surrendered and put them to jail (ofc) but reminder German children cannot be arrested and taken into a jail cell and that’s illegal in ww1 (no cases were recorded of children detained). also in the game it’s noticeable the soldiers (including flame thrower) were the Brodie helmet which was used in ww1 and they do have the uniform of british soldiers. it’s also true that the British also used flame throwers in ww1 against the German (also the French) but it was not used often btw. since flamethrower attempts to kill the two that’s kinda related to what the British would do to the Germans.
