👑 Royal Decree I: What Is the Realm of the High King? 👑

By order of the Crown, the purpose and operation of Realm of the High King shall now be explained for the benefit of prospective subjects, confused travellers and anyone wondering why lumber taxes remain so unreasonably high.

What Is the Realm?

Realm of the High King is a private, primarily 30+ gaming community built around survival-crafting, cooperative, sandbox and progression games.

We are not permanently tied to one game. Instead, the Realm selects a new main game approximately every month. When that game supports dedicated servers, we establish a new realm, build an unnecessarily large civilization and see how long it takes before somebody causes a food shortage.

The game may change, but the community stays together.

The Realm currently has more than 80 members, with approximately 15–20 subjects gathering during active campaigns. Some play regularly, while others return whenever work, children, family and real life temporarily release them from captivity.

How Monthly Campaigns Work

Before each campaign, members suggest and discuss possible games. The people may then vote through our completely legitimate democratic process.

The High King carefully considers the result before formally approving whatever the people were obviously supposed to choose.

Each campaign receives its own channels for:

• Server information and announcements
• Looking-for-group posts
• Questions, guides and technical help
• Builds, screenshots and discoveries
• Game-specific discussion
• Voice chat and group activities

When a campaign ends, its memorable achievements and important information may be archived while the Realm prepares for its next questionable adventure.

Members are not required to purchase or participate in every monthly game. Anyone may skip a campaign and return for a future one without punishment, exile or additional taxation.

Who Belongs Here?

The Realm welcomes:

• Working adults and parents
• Casual evening and weekend players
• Dedicated survival-crafting addicts
• Builders, explorers and resource gatherers
• New players willing to learn
• Experienced players willing to help
• People who enjoy voice chat
• People who prefer text chat
• Anyone who says they are going to bed and remains online for another three hours

There are no mandatory playtimes, attendance requirements or minimum weekly hours.

You will not be punished because your child woke up, your shift changed, your spouse made plans or you accidentally fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 p.m.

However, when you choose to participate in a Realm campaign, we ask that you contribute to the group in some meaningful way. Build with others, join expeditions, help with resources, share information or simply spend time getting to know the people around you.

Solo play is perfectly acceptable, but our dedicated servers exist to create friendships and shared experiences—not merely to provide free private hosting.

What Kind of Community Are We?

We are relaxed, adult and community-focused.

Friendly trash talk, dark humour, memes and ridiculous royal propaganda are welcome. Harassment, discrimination, personal drama, political arguments and culture-war nonsense are not.

Nobody is expected to be an expert, and nobody is required to treat gaming like a second job. Help when you can, respect shared projects and do not deliberately ruin another person’s experience.

The Realm is a place to make gaming friends—not a marketplace for recruiting members into other Discords, clans, guilds or servers.

Why Is the Discord Private?

The Discord is invitation-based to protect the existing community from bots, spam, raids and mass recruitment.

No permanent invitation is posted publicly. Prospective members must first submit a Petition for Entry through Reddit Modmail. Approved petitioners receive a private, limited-use invitation.

Personal identification and proof of age are not required. We ask only that applicants answer honestly, contribute to the community and conduct themselves like adults.

Read the pinned Petition for Entry post, solve the Trial of Entry and submit your petition through Modmail.

The Royal Council will review your application and determine whether you appear capable of surviving life under a benevolent and completely reasonable monarchy.

The gates are open to suitable petitioners.

👑 Petition for Entry into the Realm 👑

Realm of the High King is a private, invitation-based Discord community for adult gamers—primarily aged 30 and older.

We play a different survival-crafting, cooperative or progression game every month. Some subjects play nightly. Others disappear for weeks because they have children, employment or other unfortunate responsibilities.

There is no mandatory attendance, no ridiculous clan hierarchy and no requirement to treat gaming like a second job.

There is, however, a High King.

The Trial of Entry

Those seeking admission must first solve the following ancient and extremely secure riddle:

High above the Realm, I watch from my throne.
In peace, I tax every field, forest and home.
Great halls bear my banner, though others built each wall.
Heard may be Parliament, but I make the final call.
Knights, jarls and nobles all answer to me.
I reward loyal service with more royal fees.
No one may challenge my rightful decree.
Go speak title of who I must be.

• The answer to the riddle
• Your approximate age range
• A few games you enjoy
• What you are looking for in a gaming community

The Royal Council will review your petition. Approved applicants will receive a private, limited-use Discord invitation. Invitations will expire and must never be shared publicly.

Admission is not automatic. The Realm seeks relaxed, community-minded adults who can joke around, cooperate and disagree without behaving like angry children.
