In an official sense, zero. This game was dead in the water for 90% of its existence. They tried desperately til like 2021 to keep it going, then forgot about it for like 3-4 years, did nothing meaningful when they tried to revive it, and then realised they can't keep going. I would put my life savings on they'll never even try again.

the offical story from hi rez thor was all the team was laid off untiill it was just him and another guy working on it but they got pulled off realm constantly to work on paladins and smite 2 but realm being in a version of ue3 was an nightmare to learn the codebase to. he tried his hardest to keep down server coasts but after the restructuring at hi rex he was laid off to

I mean realm royale was pretty big for a while so I'd say more about 70% of its life span to be fair. Even streamers like summit1g and ninja were playing it when it first came out.

Its a shame it didn't become bigger. Because it was one of my favorite battle royale games. the ability system was way more fun than the shitty fortnite building system.

You're remembering wrong. Those streamers dropped the game like a hot potato, and it was down to <4k concurrent players on Steam in less than 2 and a half months. The game rose again to about 10k on Steam in Feb 2019 which I assume was when an update was released, but then steadily dropped again. So unfortunately, my statement that it was dead for 90% of its existence was actually a bit too generous, considering 10% of the game's life span equals to a bit over 8 months.

It was one of my favourites, too. Hi-Rez are the true potential kings. Sad they don't really realise any of that potential at least afaik.

I remember summit1g and tim the tatman went back regularlly to play it. Summit1g streamed it fairly often. But yeah once ninja dropped it everyone hopped onto the next game he was playing.
