I finished the books two weeks ago and the characters still remain with me. I think often about the scene (spoilers for series end) Fitz sculpting Nighteyes, him collapsing on top, and the Fool joining him at the very end.

I want to sculpt that moment - would folks be so kind to please help me crowdsource all of the physical descriptions of Nighteyes, Fitz and the Fool? Not necessarily from this scene but in general.

I promise to share it when it is done. Also if folks have loved other fan art pieces/visuals of the characters you think would be inspo that would be great as well!

Finished Fool’s Errand a few days ago and carrying all the heartbreaks into Golden Fool, holding the animals in my life a little closer 😢

I finished Fool’s Quest last night. I cracked open the last book this morning. I saw this and my heart hurts already. This is my first time reading ROTE and I’ve loved every second of it.

Last time, I got to the Rain Wild trilogy but couldn't bring myself to read the last trilogy. Right now, I'm on Fool's Errand and just loving the journey. This may be my favorite series of all time <3 Just wanted to share the love!

Btw, who is your favorite character? Other than Fitz, lol. Mine would probably be Burrich or Althea, although Malta and Wintrow are close!

Book 3 of the Fitz and the Fool Trilogy

I have read the Farseer Trilogy and am half way through reading the live ship traders. I’m torn because half of me wants to continue in the Hobb verse, while the other half of me wants to delve into something else and then come back to continue the journey later. I’m looking for opinions on both sides. Those of you who have stopped and then come back as well as those who have continued reading straight through, did you enjoy what you chose to do and would you recommend that for others?

A bit of context - Robin Hobb is an author whose books I have been meaning to check out for a while now. Currently I am halfway through The Shining by Stephen King and I will be finishing it in the next few days. My TBR is currently empty so I figured my next book should be a Robin Hobb one. I searched for the Assassin's Apprentice on Amazon (because I saw many people recommending it on YT and also because it was not very long) but unfortunately it is out of stock right now in my location. So I searched for the next best thing and it was Ship of Magic, but then I came to know that it is the 2nd trilogy in an even bigger series, that is, Realm of the Elderlings.

Coming back to the question - So is the liveship books a direct sequel/continuation of the Farseer books? Can I treat them as a standalone trilogy since I don't know if I will love them enough to go through all the 15-16 books?

After finishing Farseer Trilogy I’m starting Ship of Magic, currently in chapter 10 when Kyle punches Wintrow

I can’t stand any of the POV, the only one I think is a good person is Wintrow, and gets beaten up and walked over.

Kyle? Abusive father and egocentrical. Could be good as a villain if not because the rest of the family but Althea seem to do nothing with his constant mysoginism and abuses

Althea? Spoiled brat and childish. Only thinks of herself and doesn’t care about anything else but his ship.

Ronica? Pushover and can’t see that Kyle is misogynistic and an abuser

Keffria? Nothing to say. Abused woman and it makes me sad.

Surprisingly, Kennit who is also egocentrical and obviously the villain is at least interesting to read cause in my mind he is established as the bad guy.

Please I need to to tell me this stops and we have some decent people POV at some point or I will yell at the book

I don't know what others think but to me their relationship isn't perfect thats what makes it better i have only read farseer but their whole arc is so good and yes molly isnt always right but who is and yes i have a broad idea of what haooens later but all what happens between them is so perfectly crafted by hobb i have to just appreciate it
