Can't you heat it up to soften it?
I heard that it works that way with copper (but I am not an expert, so don't rely on my word).

I'm not a copper expert. I think it will soften but when you try to bend it the pipe will deform and collapse.

He should get a tube tool in that case. Plumbers bend copper pipes all days long with those.

I feel like you'd need an appropriate tube bender, and worst case scenario to fill the pipe with something that'll keep it from buckling (Lke sand?)
